Comments about T-Rex Engineering ToneTrunk 56 Pedal Board:

Solid and stable, and the two tiers are just what I needed to easy work the back row of pedals. Loaded up, this really feels substantial. It is a bit on the heavy side. And IMO it could use holes in the center of the platforms - not just the top and bottom - to make it easier to snake through a daisy chain. A couple of my pedals - like the MXR chorus, have the power input on the side (for some reason) so the daisy is a little stretched to get to that. Otherwise, the board is solid as a rock - great for gigging.

Comments about T-Rex Engineering ToneTrunk 56 Pedal Board:

T Rex is a great name for this pedal board. You would have to back over it with your equipment van to even dent it. The great thing is multi tiered construction. I had a couple over sized pedals that I put on the top to allow space for the connections but other than that plenty of holes to run wires through. Rear effects are elevated from the front to allow ease of foot switching. Carry bag is not tour worthy but for the local is very padded and sturdy....

Comments about T-Rex Engineering ToneTrunk 56 Pedal Board:

The step-up design is excellent, as unlike angled boards, it allows for easier switching of the upper-tier pedals. For this, alone, this board deserves a lot of praise. It also comes with a perfectly usable bag, though some competitors provide higher quality stuff.

On the negative side, this board is quite a bit heavier than a Pedaltrain board of comparable size. Also, cable management is a bit of a pain. Because of the way this thing is made, there is a large protrusion on the underside of the board between the upper and lower decks, which runs the width of the board. So, if you want to run power or patch cables underneath and between the tiers, there is no neat way of doing it. Also, if you want to tie off the anything on the underside, there is noting to really latch onto.

The biggest issue is amount of space for a power supply. This is a lower profile board, so the only PSUs you can really fit are ones that are pretty flat. Out of the ones I tried, Truetone and Voodoo Lab PSUs didn't fit. T-Rex Fuel Tank was the only one that did.

I've had the board for about a year now, and it's held up very well. If you don't mind the issues I listed above, go for it.

Comments about T-Rex Engineering ToneTrunk 56 Pedal Board:

The two-tier design allows you to get more pedals in a narrower horizontal space, and, once installed, the pedals are easy to reach. My pedal set has two pedals that require their own power supply; I ran the rest with a "1spot". Plenty of "cable access cut-outs" for cables going "in and out".
