OVERVIEW

A state-of-the-art, multiband compressor with TonePrint capability.

HyperGravity Compressor is the missing link that will take your tone from good to great. Featuring no less than three amazing compression modes; including a state-of-the-art multiband compressor, a cool vintage compressor, plus endless compression combinations through TonePrint. HyperGravity Compressor is the key to getting that much desired pro tone with even dynamics.

Despite this power, HyperGravity Compressor is still extremely simple to use and includes a built-in limiter for extra "effect-type" squashed compression tones. The multiband compressor is based on the same MD3 compression algorithm as featured in TC’s definitive studio processor System 6000, giving a much more even and natural-sounding compression across the frequency spectrum, a vintage-style compressor adds classic stompbox compressed tones plus endless compression combinations are available through TonePrint or via the TonePrint editor.

Compress Without Compromise
HyperGravity Compressor's highly advanced multiband dynamics algorithm is the same MD3 compression algorithm that can be found in TC Electronic's studio production masterpiece, System 6000 which has been the preferred dynamics tool for top producers for over 10 years. Its technologically superior engine applies perfectly tailored compression for your highs, mids and lows, and leaves you with an ultra-transparent and in the end, more musical compression than what can be achieved with standard single-band compressors. This lets you go from subtle airy shimmers, to full-on straightjacket tone-holds and anywhere in between, without ever compromising your original tone.

Squeeze Into Some Tight Tones
Jump straight into those old-school compression tones of yesteryear with HyperGravity Compressor's warm vintage mode. You get all of the squeeze and squash you could ever want, alongside that extra presence associated with those classic stompbox compressors we all know and love. Perfect for percussive country tones, tight funk sounds or sweet Gilmour sustain.

TonePrint Customized Compression
With TC's proprietary TonePrint technology you can finally realize the full potential of your inner compression-geek. The free TonePrint Editor and its wealth of parameters, lets you tailor that fully focused compression tone completely to your liking. But hey, if you'd rather rely on the sonic wisdom of others, then they have a solution for that too. Via the free TonePrint App, you can beam custom-tweaked compression tones made by some of music's finest to the pedal. It's time to unleash those dream tones inside your head!

As expected, TC electronic raises the bar once again and just like their Polytuner. It's a game changer! A new paradigm in compression boxes.this is a multiband compressor. It compresses the high mids and lows separately , what do we get? An extremely clean, transparent compressor that truly makes your playimg shine! I set it side to side withthe Wampler Ego and the Xotic SP Compressor. The Xotic used to be my favorite compressor of all time. Well, that comes in a pedal atleast .so naturally I set it to vintage mode, otherwise the side to side comparison wouldn't be fair to those other great, great compressors.
The Xotic for me, has something that I really like. Can't really put my finger on it, but it sounds too good.So at the beggining I wasn't too impressed withthe vintage mode. That was until I dialed it in properly, see there is a little latency whrn moving some of the knobs, so if you are strumming and moving the knobs at the same time it's a little difficult to dial in what youwant right away... But it's definitely not a deal breaker by any means. Once I dialed in the same type of compression as the Xotic, poom, it was just magic!!!! If you think the sustain on the sp is nice and long, nothing can prepare you for the almost eternal sustain of the hypergravity. It wasn't even a contest between theEgo.TheTC compressor beats the Ego easily on every function. Except maybe thatthe tc on vintage mode get's a little dark when highly compressed and with the ego you can dial the tone knob to compensate... But I actually like that it gets a little warmer and darker...
Spectra mode: ohhh sweet momma. Now we are getting into the real high end compression feature.... Out of the box, the spectra mode comes with a preset that they say will work fine for most players. It's extremely transparent,. and subtle if you want it to be. But man, nothing could prepare me for the toneprint.I beamed in the stratcomp and it brought my tone to a level or crispness and punch never heard b4

Unable to determine due to the fact a power supply did not come with the unit and installing a new battery the pedal did not work. I sent the unit back and it was received about a week ago with no replacement shipped back to me yet. I did however, connect a 9 volt power supply to the unit from one of my other pedals and it powered on with a lot of hum. So I have to wonder if the demo videos used a power conditioner where they had no unwanted noise and if so they need to state that.

Comments about TC Electronic HyperGravity Compressor Guitar Pedal:

I was looking for something that didn't color my sound. Most pedals seem to squish bass guitars. This one can "squish" with the best of them but I can use it to even out my attack and add a little boost with out too much coloration as well.

Comments about TC Electronic HyperGravity Compressor Guitar Pedal:

I use the Hypergravity pedal with a Tele and play a very diverse music set most of the time. This is by far the best compressor I have come across in pedal form. It keeps your core tone in tact and has the right balance of compression across the frequency spectrum. Love the blend knob and love the ability to edit the pedal to fit my exact needs. Would like an update to firmware that fixes the lag issue when adjusting on the fly. Not a deal breaker though due to the excellent way that this product handles your signal.

Comments about TC Electronic HyperGravity Compressor Guitar Pedal:

This is a really fun pedal that fits right at home with my setup. I have a SG custom to a TS9 and a Cry baby Wah as well as a TC electronics looper all going to a VOX AC15. The TS9 set to a high drive with the compressor on makes a sustain that lasts for days and the tone is increadible. I like to switch off the drive and play the wah thru the compressor solo. This helps remove the sharp volume spikes that happen with wah pedals. I am very pleased with this compressor. I am still fiddling with this pedal and it has been a lot of fun.

An amazing compressor! To be honest, I haven't even played with the Toneprints because the default loaded Toneprint along with Spectra and Vintage modes allow me to dial in sounds I really love. Having the Toneprint Edit option makes this compressor a no brainer!

the 3 different modes give a great range to experiment with. if you want squished funk its there. I love the blend because I play mostly humbuckers(prs , Ibanez, dean). it really came to life with my strat ( single coils) with a clean tone. I had the "wow, that's what this is for" moment. the spectra setting is excellent imo I admit that i'm not a comp aficionado but this sounds great & hasn`t come off my board

Comments about TC Electronic HyperGravity Compressor Guitar Pedal:

TC makes really good, sturdy affordable gear! I've several of their pedals, and love every one if them! The tone printing is so useful- there maybe a learning curve for some if you don't have any sound/ recording experience, but it's not hat hard to grasp once you get started.

Comments about TC Electronic HyperGravity Compressor Guitar Pedal:

Great pedal. From the feel and weight, right out of the box you can feel its going to be good. Knobs are smooth but take enough turn power that you won't push them with the tip of your foot playing live. The foot switch is quiet no audible pop, light and easy to engage.

The sound quality is excellent. The modern compression keeps your original sound without much change in color. At the same time you can have vintage styled compression to get that punch.

one of the best compressors I've ever used.

Comments about TC Electronic HyperGravity Compressor Guitar Pedal:

I was looking for a transparent compressor, something even out the string balance, and add some sustain. Having owned a Rivera Shaman, the "bar" was set pretty high but after sampling the available toneprints, I settled on the DynaQ and couldnt be happier. I play a Les Paul and the hypergravity seemed to bring the guitar to life!!

Smooth and transparent but high value additive to your tone with great flexibility and difficult to dial in a bad sound. I have not yet used the tone print feature but dig the factory preset and look forward to exploring as time allows. With all the options out there waiting for you to choose and spend, my recommendation would be not to overlook this high quality compressor with great features from T.C. Electronics. Probably save a bit.
