Nice Box

This is a really handy device for the price if you just want to get great amp sounds. It's easy to use and sounds really nice.

Korg Keeps It Comin'.

By Tone meister

from Hanford, CA

This little fire breathing dragon has all the "meat and potatoes" effects and amp modeling anyone could want!I mounted mine on a weighted boom stand and just turn, tap, and rock to my user presets. The amp modeling section of this little package of dynamite is second to none! You will swear you're hearing a Marshall,Vox etc. just by turning the knob. It sounds the best sonically if you use a stereo type set up to fully realize the kickin booty sounds! This little unit ends the quest(temporarily anyway) for all the tone meisters who lust for tone! Keep em coming Korg!!

I got this pedal about a year ago and I love it!!! I play mostly metal and this thing can really sound metally. The only problem with it is I can't find the perfect sound with it, I mean it has it I just can't find it. Right now I have the Amp Type as UK MDN, the Cabinet at 412 VIN, and the Effect at Delay. I have the Gain all the way up, the treble all the way up, the Middle all the way down, and the bass like a little more than half way forward. That is working for me pretty well but I want another setting. If anyone sees this and has a reccomendation please post it, it would be highly appreciated, thanks.

Exceptional value

Yes, it sounds amazing. A stupidly good value - just get it, it's worth 3 times the price. Clean Fender-type sounds come thru just right. Tweedy Bluesy overdrive with my Strat is absolute heaven. I'm not a metalhead, but I've gotten plenty of syrupy David Gilmour type solo tones, Sweet overdrive with plenty of body, not just distortion - I've used this thru the PA for local gigs, parties & rehearsals - I've just started to use this with my acoustic/Electric Yairi guitar, with a Fishman, thru the new Bose PA. No noise, just lots of control - I've recorded with it, used it for so many different applications - It always sounds exceptional, everyone who hears it buys it - It's like a swiss army knife - go get it - Velcro it to your microphone stand... rock on daddy.

For metalheads and punks only

I bought this unit seeking a good all-around, compact soundbox for performance. It indeed does a lot, and at the current sale price it's a bargain, but it wasn't what I was looking for. If you play punk or metal styles, and you need a compact, inexpensive box for home recording, this is a great deal. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.

Awesome box,

I think it's Awesome. Including 11 amp and 11 cab and 11 effects. You can get your own sound. Works great for rehearsal with the band or live? Haven't tried... I have used/tried many multi effect boxes, but i like this one most. But it should have a drum machine, like the Pandora (also from korg toneworks)

Cool little box.

Ask me a question

I bought this unit expecting to use a couple of the sounds and got a lot more than I bargained for. While it's not really convenient for stage use, the sounds are killer. I use it onstage for the delay and flanger. The only gripe is the output. It's stereo which requires you to buy a stereo to dual mono cable (in order to get stereo sounds, otherwise you get left channel only) Overall it's got good sounds and for the price it can't be beat!

Very cool little box

I wanted a portable, battery-powered do-everything box that I could use with headphones (I am currently stationed in the desert, living in tents, so bringing a large unit or amp was not possible). Remember that just a very short time ago something like this didn't even exist, and with the relative newness of the whole amp-modeling craze, I was not expecting much. To my surprise, however, this little box rocks. Not it is not studio quality, but it sounds better than many modeling amps I have played through at the local guitar shop, I was impressed, especially for the very low cost. As a take-anywhere jack-of-all-trades, master of none effects processor, I'd recommend it. It is far more versatile than anything I ever had as a beginning guitarist years ago.

Pretty good

By Rednightmare

from Jamaica Plain, MA

I'm currently waiting for my 5150 to get back from repair. This has worked out great in the meantime. It's got all the basics and more. At first i couldn't get a really clear distortion sound. But after messing with it for a while i figured out some good adjustments. A good alternative to a pod, especially for headphones or just recording some demo riffs that you don't wanna forget.

great processor

By steguitarist

from Rohnert Park, CA

this may be one of the best processors out. i love recording with it and its tone is perfect. i play lots of styles of music but this i most recommend for metal. i love using it for speedy solos and it is a very good contraption.

Thanks Korg!

By Thrasher-YZ3o4

from Alexandria, Ohio

Im an everyday Joe guitar-slinger with an insatiable quest for tone. I couldnt afford a stack of Marshalls, vintage VOX'es, or pricey boutique amps. So would an emulator help out the crappy distortion tone of my otherwise perfectly healthy Peavey Classic? I have been a guitar player for 30+ years and by far the best tone I have ever obtained without spending a fortune on plexi Marshalls, or vintage Fender twins has been with the Ampworks-G. If you are serious about tone, on a limited budget, and dont own a stack of effects and pedals, I guarentee you will not be disapointed

Beter that the POD!

By Fabio Garcia

from São Paulo - Brasil

Better that the POD! More realistic emulations, the modeling system "REMS" of the Korg he is really fantastic. The POD has more options, but the emulations do Ampworks are better and more realistic, it is easy to perceive this. The price is very good. QUALITY is what it matters, and not amount...

Not a good buy!

By Tyler Yenter

from Plover, WI

this is alright if you have the right equipment, i.e.* the PS-100 footswtich, because without it, its not much, you can only use one program at a time. and it doesnt work very well with the Boss Metal Zone, which blows because with out distortion, what is a good clean tone. don't get me wrong, its a good product, but its certainly not worth $150. nope.

Ask me a question

I do lots of studio work and write on my PC at home. I had been miking a small Marshall setup to get the tone I wanted. I was skeptical about this thing because of the low price. I was blown away by the sound I get using this right into the mixing board. Even on the high gain settings there is almost no noise. I think this thing is amazing for the money and will probably buy the bass version as well. I am going to play live this month and will just drop this in my guitar bag and forget lugging the amp and effects.

Big Bang for the Little Buck

Very Impressed. Just started using it in my studio and it is clean as a whistle. Flexibility and sound quality are excellent, even stereo. No Noise. While its not a Pod Pro, for the money you can't beat it. Portability a plus. I don't need to use Amplitube anymore. Great for practice with headphones. Output could be a problem being stereo for giggers but a simple Y cable works just fine.

Cheap fun

If you want to get some cool sounding affects that wont hurt your budget you should try this. In my case it doesn't sound to great with small amplification, but if you can put some power to it without haveing it feed back like crazy(it will do time to time) this will fit you well.

Super sounding

I was blown away after plugging into this little gem. Not knowing that much about effects I just picked it up for the price and definitely recommend it to the hobbyist like myself. The built in settings are probably the best and I even use this box with my Ovation A/E but be careful with some of them, you don't blow out your practice amp! A real find, in my op.

All those amps fit in there?

By Grubbalicious

from Fair Oaks, CA

This thing is trully an awesome little device for someone who wants to dial in a tone and stick with it. They really captured both the class-A tone and the Fender Twin tone closely. The Marshalls are also very Marshall-y, and it's easy to dial in a tone from a song you like. Also, invest in a Micro to RCA plug adapter and a micro to 1/4 jack adapter, and you're good to go.

Awesome value

Buy this product. For the price it is unbeatable. I just got mine today; however, I have played around with it a great deal since it got here. The effects are not fake sounding. There are so many combinations to choose from so you are bound to find something that you like. I will advise anyone who gets it to go ahead and put in the extra 20 bucks and get the PS-100 footswitch as it is kind of a hassle to have to hand swap between the effects at this point. Very good buy however.

Great portable unit

Easy to use and great tones. Don't need to read a 3" book to understand this unit, like it better than the other scrolling menu units available. Compact and did I say great tone and no noise. Great job Korg.
