96 kHz sampling, 32-bit processing, and USB for direct recording to your computer.

The fundamental frequencies of an electric bass are about 40 to 600 Hz, but harmonics go all the way up to the ultrasonic frequency range. Many conventional pedal effects make the low end sound thin and lifeless. This usually is not only because of insufficient response in that range, but also because the harmonics are not handled properly.

The Zoom B2.1u makes such problems history. 24-bit resolution and a sampling frequency of 96 kHz ensure signal processing power on a par with the best rack-mount devices. The dynamic, wide-range bass signal retains its full impact, and the result is clear, powerful sound that remains a distinct presence also when playing in a band ensemble.

Zoom original 32-bit DSP ZFX-3
The heart of any multi-effect device is its processor and decoder section. ZOOM elevates performance to the next level with its newly developed ZFX-3 chip. 32-bit architecture means outstanding accuracy and smooth and detailed signal processing. Fine nuances of fingering and touch come through without any deterioration.

Great bass amp sounds for any situation
Sophisticated bass amp modeling allows you to adjust parameters such as speaker cabinet characteristics and low-range response in three levels. Get the dynamic, high-impact bass sound of a large cabinet even with flat-response systems. This is handy when using headphones or studio monitors, or when playing through a small combo amp or other bass amp with low output power. Alternatively, turn the cabinet effect off and use only the characteristics of the amp head. Create your very own bass amp sound and get it whenever and wherever you want, even when using a series of different bass amplifiers on stage.

    Zoom B2.1U

Comments about Zoom B2.1u Bass Multi-Effects Pedal/USB Interface:

I've no doubt that almost every manufacturer uses the same types of switches. I won't go anywhere without the pedal, but I have to guess that ever zoom pedal uses the same switches. Probably every other pedal manufacturer as well.
Very versitile, I'v been able to easily tweak the presets to fit my needs. Have yet to use the USB function.
I've owned the pedal for a few years and under moderate use one of the switches underneath the footswitchs gave up it's ghost. I'd contacted zoom and the only option was to basically replace the entire guts of the pedal, when in fact the circuit board that had the bad switch only had the two switches on it. It seemed a waste to send it off and have them gut the pedal for such an easy fix. To change the guts of the board would have cost nearly as much as a new unit. I was able to go to radio shack and get a switch for under 5 bucks and rig it to work. The unit seemed to have failed pretty early when I compare it to the MXR and morley pedals that I've owned since the 70's that are still working.
Good pedal for the money, and even though it did have what I would consider a premature switch fail....

An Essential Pedal For The Bassist

    By Bong Usoryu

Comments about Zoom B2.1u Bass Multi-Effects Pedal/USB Interface:

The Zoom B2.1u was one of the bass effects pedals that immediately caught my eye as I was surfing the net for similar pedals. I just got mine recently and I must say it does meet my expectations and more. It can be used as a USB audio interface, a direct box to connect to a PA or mixer or recorder, and with its PCM drum machine it can be used as a valuable practice tool. Once you get through the manual, you can easily make your own patches (a maximum of 40). So that's my take on this product by Zoom. If you are looking for a lot of features in a compact pedal and tons of value for your hard-earned cash, the Zoom B2.1u is the pedal for you.

Comments about Zoom B2.1u Bass Multi-Effects Pedal/USB Interface:

This unit is everything it clamed to be. The amp modeling is excellent. The tuner hears everything. This is my third ZOOM product. I have the green one for acoustic guitar and this one for bass. For electric guitar I use the G1x. I use a Marshall JCM 800 and turn the preamp controls on the amp all the way off and plug into the low gain input--SUPERB. My green acoustic ZOOM pedal had one of the switches go bad, like in another review you may have read. I went inside and changed the angle the foot switch contacted the little button. It works. Another reviewer complained about the order the effects were in. I disagree. Unless you MUST HAVE delay based effects BEFORE compression and modeling to get your special sound, then you will be more than pleased with this unit. I use a big Peavey amp onstage and, I swear, my sound is as if it's ALREADY gone through the PA with some sophisticated DSPs to make it like something off a CD. For what ZOOM gets pricewise for units like this they are TOPS in my book.
