Four-string Jazz Bass control with dual V-Mod III pickups
Few bass designs balance definition and flexibility as naturally as the Jazz Bass, and the American Professional version refines that familiar versatility with the fit and finish expected of Fender's flagship USA series. The Fender American Professional Jazz Bass pairs its classic offset body with a 34" Slim C maple neck, maple fingerboard and dual V-Mod III Jazz Bass single-coils, complemented by independent pickup volumes, master tone and a 4-saddle HiMass Pro bridge with string-through-body or top-load setup options. For bassists moving between detailed studio work, full-band rehearsals and demanding live sets, the American Professional Jazz Bass turns the classic two-pickup formula into a more polished and capable working instrument.
Classic Four-String Construction Preserves Familiar Proportions
The standard four-string format keeps the American Professional Jazz Bass rooted in the proportions players know, with a 34" scale and the familiar offset body shape. Depending on finish, Fender uses either alder or ash for the body, while the polyurethane finish and core neck, electronics and bridge specifications remain consistent. That gives players a choice of visual and material configuration without changing the fundamental feel or control scheme of the instrument.
V-Mod III Pickups Preserve the Jazz Bass Blend
Dual V-Mod III Jazz Bass single-coils retain the familiar arrangement of one volume per pickup and a shared master tone. Players can move gradually between the two pickup voices or settle anywhere between them without stepping through fixed selector positions. ClassicGear Precision potentiometers keep those adjustments smooth and consistent, refining one of Fender's most familiar bass control schemes.
Slim C Neck Delivers a Refined Playing Feel
The Slim C maple neck combines rolled fingerboard edges with Fender's Super-Natural satin urethane finish and a sculpted heel for a smoother, more finished feel throughout a set. The maple fingerboard carries a 9.5" radius, 20 narrow tall frets and black dot inlays, while the 1.5" bone nut maintains the familiar four-string Jazz Bass width. These refinements enhance comfort and access without dramatically changing the instrument's established playing feel.
HiMass Pro Hardware Supports Flexible Setup Options
A 4-saddle HiMass Pro bridge gives every string its own adjustment point and supports either string-through-body or top-load installation. Lightweight vintage-style tuning keys with tapered shafts keep the headstock hardware efficient, while nickel/chrome appointments maintain the understated Fender aesthetic. That hardware package adds useful setup flexibility without complicating the traditional four-string platform.
A Refined Jazz Bass for Stage and Studio
The American Professional Jazz Bass combines the established Jazz Bass character with thoughtful refinements to the neck, electronics and hardware. Its V-Mod III pickups preserve the flexibility of the two-pickup blend, while the refined neck finish and HiMass Pro bridge give touring and recording players practical upgrades. A deluxe molded case is included for transport. Put familiar low-end versatility to work across stage and studio with the Fender American Professional Jazz Bass.
