Comments about Ibanez GSR206 6-String Electric Bass:

I picked this bass up about 6 months ago to see how I liked playing on 6 strings instead of 4.
I'm glad I took the leap. This thing is light, electronics are solid, and I can usually get the tone I want out of it. The neck on this thing is super thin, which makes playing it a treat. Action out the box was super low and well set up. If you're looking for a 6 to get your toes wet with this may be your bass.

Comments about Ibanez GSR206 6-String Electric Bass:

This is a great sounding bass for the price. It is classic Ibanez, but the pickups are very bright and light. I recommend heavier guage strings with this bass.

Comments about Ibanez GSR206 6-String Electric Bass:

I originally tried this out at a local music store and I was very impressed with the sound, feel, and price! So I decided to order through MF to save money on taxes. When it arrived I noticed that it did not have a 5-piece neck like the one I tried out in the music store, and after doing some research on it I find out that a one-piece neck is standard. Oh well. The neck still has a nice slim profile and it sounds good, so I'm fine with that. CONS: When the bass arrived the neck pickup did not work. After taking a look at the electronics I saw that one of the wires for it wasn't soldered. Upon looking closer at the rest of the electronics I noticed that all of them were "cold" solder joints, and had so little solder on them that the wires were barely held in place! A little resoldering on my part and the bass is good to go. Not a huge problem for me, but more of an annoyance. So if you're not comfortable with a little soldering, beware.
