I was test driving basses the other day and the SR705 was one of the few basses in this price range that I was able to leave the controls set flat and still attain a good tone. The bubinga neck and narrower string spacing took a little getting used to, but after an hour the awkward feeling started to subside. This bass provided deep solid lows, fairly throaty mids, and crisp highs. The downside is the color options, you are very limited. I am seriously considering purchasing the SR705, Perhaps the SR535, as the ONLY differences are the color and neck wood. SR535 is a maple neck.

After going through many bass guitars trying to find that one nitch where I felt like this 'one particular bass' was tailor-made for me...I went through many basses, including the Ibanez SR706 (6-string), finally reaching THE ULTIMATE IN BASS GUITARS..the SR705 (5-string. This bass is tailor-made for me! There aren't enough hours in the day or days in the week to being to tell you how awesome this bass is. I have always owned black guitars until now, however, this color (Blue Moon) is very appealing to the eye in person in person. I would highly recommend this bass guitar. If you are searching for the "Total Package" in bass guitars look no further than the Ibanez SR 705.

Ibanez SR 705

First let me say, this bass looks 10 times better in real life, than in this picture. When I first saw it in the music store,I didn't think it was the same bass. It's actually a much darker{almost navy} transparent blue,in which you can still see the woodgrain, very cool! All my buddies love it.The neck is smokin'hot, the bubinga wood just feels great in your hand, and the string action is excellent. The Bartolini pickups{need I say more?}along with the active electronics, make this bass go from bright and punchy to downright nasty, in a wide array of tonal variety.I thought I would have to spend more money to get what I wanted, until I stumbled across this bass.It looks, sounds and feels great.Ibanez just did a great job on this bass.Bottomline, you should give the SR705 a serious look, take it for a test drive, and see if its for you.
