    Best Uses

Comments about Warwick Rockbass Fortress 5-String Electric Bass:

This bass is pretty amazing and exceeded expectations. I did do a truss rod adjustment, nut height and adjusted the bridge where I wanted it with the strings I like to use, but that is really to be expected for a wood instrument that shipped through the mail, which was set up for different strings in probably a different climate. Luckily, it came with every tool I needed to make these adjustments and that's pretty awesome. You can actually get to the truss rod without removing any strings.
Out of the box I was pleasantly surprised that the body was smaller than expected. I was thinking (for some reason) that it would be like... Fender P Bass sized body; a giant butcher block cutting board. Not so.
It also weighs less than the bass I have been using for over 15 years, which was a complete shock. I've been so use to this little 4 string bubinga bass for so long that I was a little hesitant to switch to a gigantic heavy 5 string. It is neither gigantic or heavy.
The electronics are clean, the jack feels great. The battery compartment is a bit of a crammed in afterthought, we'll see how that one plays out as the years go on. It's easy to get to, but it's a metal clip inside of the rats nest, and I don't feel there is adequate room to A) figure out where the battery even goes and B) feel confident that I have it in there correctly. That said, the cavity is painted, the wires are managed, the pots are smooth, the compartment is incredibly easy to access. Using the same amp, same board and same cables as my other bass, it just sounds really great.
