Comments about Alfred Beginning Blues Guitar (Book/DVD):
I just started playing and picked this book up and I think it's great. It doesn't teach notation but shows it and tab throughout the whole book. I never understood all the scale stuff but now know enough to tell you what scale degrees are, major vs. minor, intervals, basic chord makeup (including augmented, diminished, dominant 7th, etc.). It also shows basic structure of the blues harmony, pull-off, hammer-ons, etc. and I'm only halfway through the book. I definitely recommend this book to beginners.
