Comments about Hal Leonard Bass Slappin' and Poppin' (DVD):
This DVD is pretty good for the money. You learn the basics of slapping, and it is pretty easy to follow along. The sound and video are of good quality, and the instructor is knowledgable. Highly recommended for beginner/intermediate. For more advanced slap players, this is more of a refresher. Included with the DVD is a tablature booklet and a website membership.
Comments about Hal Leonard Bass Slappin' and Poppin' (DVD):
This is by far the best DVD I've seen yet on giving you something to work at. Some of it will be easy for more advanced players, but for the rest of us, not. If you follow the lessons you will be on your way to slappin' and poppin'. I liked how Chris McCarvill and Rockhouse thought this out. I would buy it again if lost. It makes you think and helps you improve your bass playing. This was a good lesson for me.
Comments about Hal Leonard Bass Slappin' and Poppin' (DVD):
Personally I found this to be a pretty good slap and pop method but I am truly a beginner. Perhaps it would seem too basic for anyone above this level. I gave it a 7 because I thought that a lot of the subjects in the dvd were treated lightly.
Comments about Hal Leonard Bass Slappin' and Poppin' (DVD):
I bought this over two weeks ago. I already knew how to play some slap and pop bass. I'm a funk player myself. This was a great learning curve. Gives you good detail and good hand positioning is the main factor. This dvd explains all concepts of how to slap and pop your nights away!I recommend for a beginner for slapping and popping.I play hardcore music and it sounds amazing when we have a break-down and i start slapping and popping like there's no tomorrow.
