Comments about Rock House Funk: Using It and Fusing It with Leo Nocentelli 2 DVD Set:
I was disappointed by the camera work and production values of the DVD. Leo is obviously a great player, but it can be hard to see exactly what he is doing with his hands. That may be because I am new to guitar, and maybe if I was a good player already I could figure it out easier, but I still wish there were better camera angles and better production values. The whole approach seems to lack an overall structure, it's more a series of things to try. It could have been sold as a VHS, they don't take full advantage of the DVD format in my opinion. And I tried to get some funk tips on the website (as advertised) but there was no Leo material there. There was other guitar instructional material, but no better than what anyone can find for free on the internet. Buy this if you love the Meters or Funk, and already can play pretty good. I'm keeping it, maybe I'll get more out of it in a year or two. I rated everything on the DVD as a 5, but I gave a higher rating just based on Leo Nocentelli's presence.
