Comments about Meinl Symphonic Suspended Cymbal:
This is just a perfect cymbal (I have an 18"). It's incredibly classy looking, for one, being traditional finish with sort of wide lathing and noticeable hammering (this cymbal is made alongside Byzances and Mb20s in Meinl's Turkish plant). It has a pretty thin edge so it opens up sooo easily and has a lot of breath to it. Yet, it has a thicker middle and bell, so it has some brightness too. You crash this cymbal and it explodes in an incredibly lush, saturated sound – it's breathtaking. It also is a great secondary ride for jazz, I found the bell to be very useful for bossa grooves.
I use it mainly for drumset, but also play it symphonically and it has a gorgeous swell that noticeably gets brighter as it gets louder which I think is perfect for a lot of suspended work with most ensembles. It's much more sweet than the HH Orchestral 18" and (if my memory serves) is very comparable to the K Constantinople suspendeds, maybe a little cleaner and more saturated.
I have a drumset sound demonstration up on Youtube, you can probably find it easily by searching for this cymbal's name.
