I just got this drumset and it was amazing. The heads are not very great, so you might want to replace them. The hardware is nice, and I like the lock system they have on it. The hi-hat stand should be able to go high but it doesnt. I like how they set up the d-mounting system its easier and faster to place on your tom. All of the toms have good tone but they could sound better with differnt heads(and manufactering heads are usually not good). The bass drum sounds nice you just need a pillow inside of it. The Planet Z cymbals it comes with now are better than i thought they would be. They are like other cymbals that come with drumset that are just plain bad. They actually have a good sound to them. but I didn't understand why they gave you the Plant Z Z3 pro pack (which comes with 14" hi-hats and 18" ride/crash) when the drum set comes with another cymbal stand. when the Planet Z Z4 cymbal pack (which comes with a 14" hi-hat, 16" crash and a 20" ride) is 10 more dollars and come with the cymbal to put on the extra cymbal stand. But you can always buy the other one no big deal. overall everything is nice unless you like your snare drum high, because the snare is 6.5 and it sits high. but if you really want this set get it its worth every penny

I've had this drum kit for several years and they're... ok. I put the snare in storage shortly after getting the kit because it was just unresponsive and had a poor sound. The kick on the other hand has a huge sound; thumbs up. It's a sharp looking drum set but it's easy to see the smaller details were all but left out. The shells (especially the kick drum) have exposed wood for the fact that the pvc wraps have slid around. The heads will need to be replaced. Finally, the hardware is nice; thumbs up.

Overall, this drum kit is ok but I would only recommend for a starter kit.

Great Set!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Overall, this is a very nice set. The bass drum and toms sound awesome. The snare needs a little tuning but sounds good after you tune it. The only complaint I have is that the snare stand is too high. Also, I would suggest changing the heads to get the best possible sound.

AMAZING!

I just ordered this kit in Tantrum and it looks amazing! I was going to get a Jackson Custom Drum set or a SJC Custom Drums Kit with an endorsement, but I didn't have enough money to buy one. So I decided I would buy this because it has the 12x8 tom and 22x20 bass drum. The bass drum is Explosive and sounds perfect! I would say that the snare isn't that great, but I haven't put much time in tuning it just right yet so I don't really know. The toms sound great too! The only things you really need is new heads. The hardware is great, I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I haven't had any of the paint chipped off either.

ohh ya

I just bought this thing and have been tuning it up and it sounds sweet. the high tom has perfect tone. ive been playing for 3 years now and learned how to play on my bros pearl custom session, compaired to it its got great feel.the only problems that i have are that the tom-tom is to high up and the snare stand is also. the bass sounds amasing but too clunkey(if that makes any sense) with the pre muffled heads so replace those asap. other than that its freakin sweet

good little set

By Jeremy S.

from TEXAS

Check it. This set is a decent set. A good drummer that knows how to tune well can make this a good set. I consider myself a decent drummer, but I spend a LOT of time tuning which is crucial no matter how good the set. The reason I bought this set was because of its two floor tom setup; it works best for my style. Bottom line: this set will work best for more advanced drummers. It takes more work to make it sound great. Don't treat the high hat stand like a boot, be nice to it. Snare is not great. Definitely worth the money if you're willing to put the effort into making it sound good. Dig.

Sweet Set

I have now owned this set for about a month. The set took a little while to get used to because of the long bass drum and the 2 floor toms, but i really enjoy it. The bass has an amazingly low, and loud boom. I don't really like the snare because the sound is too open. I had to doctor it. The tom heads it comes with are not great, so i replaced them with remo pinstripes. I love the set overall though.

I got this set last week and I am completely amazed with it! Not only does it look awesome but it sounds amazing! The stock heads are ok. You can use them if you prefer the higher tone, but if you really want to make a statement with these drums get some new heads and show people what these drums can do. Great drums, great price!!Don't pass this up!

Great drums

By Todd-Yi-85

from North Carolina

I bought these drums about a month ago and I've had no problem with them. When I put them together everything fit nice, after some tuning they sounded better than the Pearl exports at the church I play at. I've herd a lot about the hardware chipping but none of that has happined yet and all the hardware and stands seem to be working great. These are great drums that I am really happy with!

Bought this set about a year ago, been playing every weekend with it, they hold up quite well. Some things I've had to change, heads, bolt in hi-hat foot pedal, and I just noticed the wrap on the kick is starting to get ripples in it.All in all for the price the set works well, but if your looking for long haul quality you may want to go with Gretsch, or Tama's low end sets.

Ddrum

By paul01772

from preston uk

i got my diablo last year, its held up well and sounds awesome, i added my own hardware and cymbals to it, so i got it for the drums to be honest, advice would be to replace the standard ddrum heads, they don't do it any favors, you will notice a massive difference in tone and a beautiful mellow sound if you do, i recommend remo's !! :P

Stop hatin

By everything off the left. grid it.

from where the crawfish be boilin neg

All you guys that are complaining about this and that need to learn how take care of a drum and learn how to tune stuff(or get someone that knows how to) before you start ragging the quality or the sound of this set. half drummers out there think turning a key until it gets tight means it tuned. well I hate to break it to you, that's NOT how you tune a drum. you get what you pay for, and this is a pretty good set compared to other sets around this price range. if you feel it's not what you want, just ship it back. that simple.

wow!! this a great set to play on.. its good for ppl with experience and who are beginners... well the only 3 draw backs are that the heads need changing after a little while of use(cuz i bought new heads because the ones that come with it are rough feeling) 2.snare stand is high but with a lot of work u can put it lower...3. i dont know if it happens to everybody but the high hat stand starts to fall apart because the pedal.. when i was playing it.. i noticed 4 things fell off it... well other than that its great!!!!

The Evil Diablo

This set was good in the begining until you slowly realize that it really bites. The Bass, yes the famous bass drum is actually pretty bassy and powerful but the hardware sucks and will eventually fall apart...cheap stuff. Dont get me wrong, i am not the richest dude and thats why i bought these...they were a good deal, but after buying i kinda wish i waited and saved up my money for a better set. I am not going to buy from this company again unless there is a good reason to.

It's okay

By DerrickofPhage

from Vine Grove, KY

I bought this set the other day and I really loved the look of it. The only thing that bugged me was the heads you get with it. They don't sound that great at all. The hihat stand isn't that great itself either. So if you buy new heads for it and a different hihat stand for the set, it's worth it. The price is awesome for this kind of set too.

I got this set in vicious paint a month ago and it is awesome I opened the box and the color was not at all what I thought it would look like. it was 10x better! it sounds awesome but you may need new heads. it is an awesome set and would recommend it to beginers and somewhat experienced players.

Awesome Set

This drum set, when tuned properly, will outplay or match any drumset. The bass drum is super loud, and most of the hardware is durable. The ball mount on the tom rack isnt the greatest, but it works for me. This drum set, especially black with red hardware, is very appealing. A lot of people have commented me on how it looks. Before you look anywhere else, get this drum set, get new heads, and get some pro cymbals. You CAN make this drum set sound like any other.

great kit for the money! seed your heads!

By the dailys drummer

from Gorst ,wash

I just put together the ddrum black w/ red hardware diablo punx 5 pc for my friend who is just starting out playing.pretty easy assembly.the rack toms and floor toms sound close to my 1968 ludwig. I have played all kinds of kits and every drum kit has it's own voice.the ddrum kick booms and is very easy to tune lower for hard rock or higher/tighter for jazz/funk. the reason people are having such a hard time with these kits is because they don't take their time and more than likley are beginners trying to play through the drum instead of learning how to tune it and pull the tone and volume out of the drum {like john bonham}. you play what you play. and if its bad from the get go it seems we jump to the conclusion that the instrument is bad.{of course there are the occasional made on friday lemons},but if you are having trouble it's because you have never owned it to know it.so ask someone who does know. like the company Ddrum! most of all keep playing!

Ddrum is Awesome

By The DDRUM MAN

I love this thing to death!!! The stock ddrum heads are not bad at all you just need to use drum rings to muffle the toms. The Look is awesome too. It looks way cooler in person also. I would replace the snare head and I broke the bass drum head in like 2 days but I was playing all the time. Great for Metal, hardcore, and anything heavy. Great for and level in drumming beginner to pro!!!
