Comments about LP M201 Matador Wood Bongos:
I love the matador line of bongo's and conga's from LP. These bongo's sound no different from the more expensive ones from LP without the higher price. The only thing I would do is upgrade the heads to Remo Fiberskyn Heads at some point to really get them singing. All in all, a great deal!

Comments about LP M201 Matador Wood Bongos:
The bongos are great for the price. However, if you get the dark brown bongos, be aware that the photo on this site is all wrong. The bongos have silver chrome hardware, not gold chrome, and the heads are white. Somebody used the wrong lighting whenthey took the photo
Comments about LP M201 Matador Wood Bongos:
I have a set of Matador Bongos and I have been very happy with them. They are good quality, solidly constructed and perform well. When I replace the heads I will not put the same Matador heads on but get a better quality head. Other than that I think these are great.
Comments about LP M201 Matador Wood Bongos:
It has a beautiful design, an excellent sound, but one small detail: it's a little too heavy, but once you start, you'll get used to it.
Comments about LP M201 Matador Wood Bongos:
My mother brought a pair of The Matador bongos long before I even thought about picking up the drums. Drumming became my life and I began to look for ways to get a different sound. I brought a bongo stand from This site and put the bongos on the left hand side of my hi hat over top of my mini Lp timbales. With a quick tune the sound was amazing. These bongos are so worth it, they sat around for like 3 years before I began Playing with my set and they still sound just as good even from playing them with sticks. They are real durable with great sound.
Pros
- Great Sound
- Huge Tone
- Responsive
- Sensitive
Cons
Best Uses
- Accompaniment
- Jazz Clubs
- Small Venues

Comments about LP M201 Matador Wood Bongos:
I play these bongos with three congas. They add perfect contrasting tones and project the sound very well.
