OVERVIEW

Loud attack with moderate sustain.

Crash cymbals have washy and fairly dark sound with a full frequency spectrum.

Meinl's Byzance Traditional finish cymbals are handmade in Turkey using the traditional B20 bronze alloy. The profile of the cymbal is hand-hammered into shape. They are also lathed by hand. All this handwork goes into making a true musical instrument. These crash cymbals have a nice dark character with an explosive attack and a long decay. Good for Latin, jazz, rock, pop and country . . . a good all around cymbal.

The Best I've Ever Heard!

By Anonymous

Comments about Meinl Byzance Medium Thin Crash Traditional:

This is the best crash Ive ever heard! I studied cymbals at least an hour a day for the last year to make sure I was buying the right product. The craftsmanship and look of this cymbal is immaculate. The sound is lush, rich, and dark, with more than enough ummoph to project. It's works perfectly for what I use it for. Everytime I hit it and hear the sound I can't help but grin

Great main crash

Comments about Meinl Byzance Medium Thin Crash Traditional:

I have this in a 19 inch, and it's great. It's big enough to create real volume when I need, but versatile and responsive enough to work in lighter settings. It's dark but not trashy, and has a nice wash without being out of control. Unless you're the kind of drummer who requires 10 cymbals, you really could get away with having this as your only crash.

Comments about Meinl Byzance Medium Thin Crash Traditional:

I have this in 16". I am not familiar with this crash in other diameters. For those without Meinl dealers near you, I can only compare this closest to sounding like a Paiste 2002 medium-thin crash. I've have owned/own/played a Zildjian A 16" medium-thin, Sabian 16" AAX stage crash, and 16" Sabian AA bright crash, and 16" Sabian Paragon crash, and they are not closer than the Paiste.I didn't put a 5.0 for any since I feel that Zildjian K dark crashes and Paiste Signature crashes play and sound better.
