Comments about Meinl Subwoofer Jumbo Bass Cajon:

I like the depth of the sound and the forward projection, but the low notes are flatter that the one I played in trial before ordering. I prefer more "ring" and I am evaluating other units before deciding to keep or return.

Love the snare tone. Bass not as boomy as I expected, but then I havn't played around with the screws yet.
One flipside is the size. This thing is massive.

Comments about Meinl Subwoofer Jumbo Bass Cajon:

I really like the cajon. its fun to play and has a decent sound. you can get several different sounds out of the snare that you cant get from other cajons and hitting the sides of the cajon offers a tom like sound. overall good cajon. would prefer if it were made out of higher quality wood though.

Comments about Meinl Subwoofer Jumbo Bass Cajon:

Great cajon -- and that's coming from someone who likes to maintain as many traditional elements as possible in his all-acoustic approach. I have no problem with it replacing the cocktail drumset I own for drummers to use when they work with me on certain bookings in very small venues.

But Meinl doesn't offer a model-specific gig bag for it! Or, if they do, Musicians Friend doesn't carry such a bag.

When you're loading in and out for every gig, with the gear spending the rest of its time in the trailer, expensive instruments and other stage equipment soon begins to look really shabby without SOME kind of protection, and that's what's happening to my cajon.

C'mon, MF! It's not like this cajon is some kind of oddball model that hardly anyone uses! And it's not exactly cheap, compared with other Meinl models. So where can I get a gig bag to protect it over the long haul?

        End of rant. Thanks.

Comments about Meinl Subwoofer Jumbo Bass Cajon:

I played many cajons before deciding to buy this Meinl Jumbo bass cajon. The strong bass is what won me over. In my opinion, the strong bass makes it a good choice for playing live and for recording. The construction seems durable and it feels nice. I recommend trying it out in a store before buying.

Comments about Meinl Subwoofer Jumbo Bass Cajon:

Really liking this cajon. Although I am not a cajon-oisseur, it has bass for days (think hip-hop bass), plenty of snap in the snare, as well as good sensitivity. I also like the built in handle. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

I got this drum for my boyfriend's birthday. He is a drummer and this was the first cajon he has gotten and loves it and picked it up very quick! I myself play the ukulele and there a great match we are going to continue to enjoy this product very much :) Highly recommend

Comments about Meinl Subwoofer Jumbo Bass Cajon:

I rigged up a remote bass pedal and found a sweet spot on the cajon with great bass tone. I wanted that for a special kit where I sit on the cajon and use it as a bass drum with my snare and hats in front of me. Works perfect for that. I have also used it as a normal cajon for some front porch acoustic jams and it works well all around. I'm sure you can buy better bass cajons, but this is what I was looking for and in my price range.

This cajon has a fantastic big sound. I play acoustic grunge/alt stuff and while cajons are not usually thought of as the drum for that type, this has the booming bass that works perfectly. Love the product!
