Awesome

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I got this as my first drum set about a year ago. It was awesome everything was and is still great. The only minor problem is the overtone but you won't notice it when your really playing. I thought I was gonna need new heads, a year later and they've just begun to show some signs of use.

EXR 5 PIECE

By Heyadam SHUTUP

from Portland , OR

I got this kit after owning all the high end DW's and even a custom TRUTH kit. This bad boy plays better than those, especially for the price. Tuning stays better then any other kit I've owned. The hardware is TERRIFIC.The only problem I had was the snare. I would recommend buying a Pork Pie, or TRUTH snare if you can afford it. If you can't then I'd be careful with the snare release mechanism.

This set is the best.

I bought this set on Christmas eve and I havent had a problem with it since I put it in the car. The ISS tom mounting system is great, the bass drum is big in size and sound, no matter what style of these sets you pick(they are all beautiful)and I personally have the Gun metal sparkle, and I've never seen anything so shiny and sparkly, and since the ISS mounting system doesnt puncture the tom toms, they sound and operate wonderfully. I wouldnt reccomend this kit for a beginner, but if you are intermediate to advanced...this kit is for you.

The Pearl EXR Fusion set

By Elias Herrera

from Modesto, CA

See all my reviews

OVERALL, THE BEST PEARL DRUM SET I COULD HAVE, though I do wish for some birch and maple shells mixed with the set!
What I could get out of this set was pretty nice, I got it in oyster blue, and to be honest I thought I'd never find a drum set at this price that'll sound nice. Before, I was looking at the sound check, and several other ones but I didn't like the sound of them that much, I didn't get that punchy, rock/jazz sound I wanted and well this really give it, I play comtemporary christian music, and it gives great sound during worship or live performances!
the quality of the drums with the heat shell compression system, really gives me no worries about it being beamed by the sun's heat rays!
though I never got it online, I got mine on craigslist just the set without stands, cymbals and a pedal. but in total getting all the stuff together it came out the same price but with everything!

Great set

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This is my second set and my first Pearl. Let me just saw that this set has an amazing tone. The poplar drums have a distinctive tone that ranges right in between birch and mahogany. I bought the double bass expansion pack right after I got it and I'm waiting for it the come in the mail. With the expansion pack and the cymbals I own, I wouldn't need anything else. I recommend them highly.

Get these and you'll never leave your throne!

By DrumminKage

from Ohio

I recently got a house for college and I didn't want to bring up my good set of drums, so I decided to get something else. I have always been a Pearl man. I have played most brands and they always feel and sound the best. I needed something within my price range, but quality was a big issue. I ended up getting a Tama set, but was not happy at all, so I exchanged them for the Strata Red EXR fusion kit. I must say that these are great drums. I can't stop playing them, and when I'm not playing, I think about playing them. They sound much better than the Tamas even with stock heads. These drums are worth every penny. Not to mention that the Pearl hardware you get is very high quality.

I purchased this set about a year ago for a practice kit as a alternitive to dragging around my master series drums between playing gigs and rehearsals. Now for the most part the masters stay home and I gig with these - and why not? With new heads and a good tuning these drums sound really good. I upgraded the hardware a bit{optimount-unilockstands and arms} for more versitlity but the hardware that comes with the set is just fine. And the greatest thing is I don't worry about spilled drinks or dropped drums and all the other stuff that happens to your equipment when out playing. Don't be fooled by maple this or birch that. Do you really think that moron guitar player in your band is really gonna know the difference? No! Neither will the people you play for. Pearl quality and dependabilty and a small investment...you do the math.

awesome set

By Patrick G

from Houston, TX

this set rocks. the toms have great tone, even with the stock pearl heads! the snare is very warm, with a controlled overtone. the bass is very deep and punchy. just throw some 2 ply remo or evans heads on the toms and snare, and an aquarian superkick II bass head and you'll be rockin.

Excellent quality

I've been playing jazz and funk for many years and have several quality drum kits that I've compared to the EXR kit. My EXR kit is White Strata Pearl with a 20*16 bass and fusion size drums. The kit has a big sound, great punch and is easy to tune and configure. The drum mounts are very flexible. Highly recommended sound that competes with pro kits.

Dang nice for a first set

By Maxx-y0jbc

I got this set as my first and have had it about 4 months. Sure, the heads that came with it sounded pretty good, but slap some pinstripes and O-rings on these babies, and they REALLY sing. The hardware is rock solid, unless you boom it all the way out with a bigger cymbal. The bass drum does not creep at all, the metal spurs work great on carpet. Also, the pedals are pretty good, and the fact that the hi-hat pedal can be rotated without rotating the entire stand is yet another great feature of this set. If you are considering getting this set, stop it and get it already.

Best look and sound!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This set is amazing. The sound is great and is fairly easy to tune. Not only does this set sound great it looks better than any one I know. I got the stata white and it looks magnificent. The bass drum is deep yet punchy. The 10in tom gets out of tune alot faster than the rest but very easy to fix. All the hardware (hi-hat stand, cymbal stands etc.) are extremely durable and high quality. Get this set with no hesitation, it's the best.

EXR

By Radical Matt

from Cincinnati, OH

I buy this set just recently, and man, it is amazing, though the wood isnt birch or mahagony, the poplar still adds a nice sound. And of course its Pearl, so its very durable and reliable. I got it in Strata Black, so not only does it sound amazing, it looks amazing. I would recommend this to any drummer.

I Bought this drumset as my first, and i wasn't disappointed at all. Since i got a little brother and many cousins, when they come over and play on it they really busy it to the extreme, and it still is great, however now i got my own heads :P I recommend it 100%

Best sounding drums ever!

I just got this drum set and it is amazing. Pearl can't be better. Usually you need to put a blanket inside the bass drum to make it sound like a REAL bass drum, but not this set. Plus it comes with the cymbals! On a scale from 1-10 I'd say that they are around 9 1/2. I would recommend that you get these drums, good price, great sound, can't get anything better for your money.

Poplar is Musicial

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Don't laugh, but I am guitar player who loves to play drums. I have played a lot of drum kits in my 30-odd years of playing. Mostly high end kits, of course when I started there was no such thing high or low end drum kits, they were either good or bad. This EXR kit is right up there with some of the best kits I have played. There are better kits out there, but you will pay for it. Don't be out off by the use of poplar wood in the early days and even today guitars are made of this wood, it's very musicical & strong.

Lmited edition blue marble exr

I recently got this kit in lim. ed blue marble w/ black hardware, and it sounds just as good as it looks. it was so easy to tune after I put new heads on, but even the heads it comes with are fine. I would suggest getting a front bass head with a port though. the shell are very high quality same with the hardware.the drums are perfect for any setting too, rock jazz, anything u name it. great tonal value too. I am ordering a second bass, and a 16" floor tom. I picked mine up, and it is worth every penny and more

this is very impressive

By Anonymous

I'm only 12 years old and I have uncommon skill for my age group. This kit is one of the best good quality kits I've ever used. I got some Ebony Remo heads to replace the ones it came with. I recommend that you buy GOOD cymbals to make the kit even better. Sounds great! Also I recommend getting it in strata black. Great for Punk, rock, jazz, and metal.
