Comments about Sabian AAX Studio Brilliant Crash Cymbal:
I was looking for something a bit thinner than a Paragon crash that would blend in with my HHX crashes. This has worked out well. Initially bought the 19" which was on back order everywhere for weeks. Liked it so much I went and got a 17" a few days later. Brilliant finish is nice.

Comments about Sabian AAX Studio Brilliant Crash Cymbal:
After 35 years, one of my original Sabian crashes has finally cracked around the bell, but it surprisingly still sounds good. So I started going through all the levels of cymbals that Sabian has to offer for a replacement. When I started playing back in the early 80's, Sabian had just come on to the market and had only one level of cymbal, which was there best. I purchased 3 crashes a ride and 22 Chinese, along with a set of 15 inch hats. Everything is still in great shape except for the cracked crash. So I bought the 17" studio crash knowing that I was going to get a different sound from it being that I was using a 16" thin before. When I opened the box, the cym came in just a plastic beg, that was wrapped in a fabricated box with a lot of stuffing. The first thing I saw was the brilliant finish. Absolutely beautiful. It was a little bigger with a lot of printed "Sabian" ink covering almost half the cymbal top. Wasn't too pleased about that, but pales in comparison to the sound I am now achieving with this new cym. This new cym now gives me three levels of crash, which works in almost any situation. I do a lot of home recording through Pro Tools, and I must say that the old cym must have lost it's sound, because this studio crash sounds as crisp and clear as anything I have ever heard. Great cymbal.

Comments about Sabian AAX Studio Brilliant Crash Cymbal:
I love the. Aax series. I have a full set of the stage crash. Played them hard for 4 years now. I prefer there sound over ziljian a customs. Have a few ziljians left..replacing them as time goes along. These are pricey. But worth it!
Comments about Sabian AAX Studio Brilliant Crash Cymbal:
This crash cymbal is the perfect bright sound with a perfect sustain. It is ideal for studio playing.I have the 14" and it's really nice. I will be getting a 16" very soon. This studio sound is a bit warmer than the other AAX products and that gives this crash a lot of versatility. I don't play metal or hard rock, I'm more of a funk, reggae and some alternative guy and this crash is ideal for me.
Comments about Sabian AAX Studio Brilliant Crash Cymbal:
I've always been A fan of Sabian cymbals and for good reason. I currently own the 14" in natural finish and it's great. It's a little darker than I thought it would be but it's still bright and cuts through just fine, great tone just a wonderful crash. Just a warning to hard hitters though it's thin so if you don't have good technique you might want to check out some of the other models but for me I can't wait to get the 16" as well.
Comments about Sabian AAX Studio Brilliant Crash Cymbal:
I used to play a lot of AAX; everything was in the brilliant finish for that bright, glassy sound. I owned a few of these Studio Crashes?some at different times?they were one of my favorites out of the AAX. I owned the 16? for a while?nice crash, but I felt it was missing something. And I was disappointed with the 18? crash because it didn?t project. However the 17? crash filled my needs. It was incredibly bright, full, & had fast decay. I always thought the 17? was like the 16? & 18? molded together?the best of both worlds & none of their weaknesses. I also owned the 14? crash, which was very versatile within my set-up. It?s great for bright accents, but I also felt it had a nice warm shimmering sound quality?again versatile. These crashes sound great, respond with little effort, & are versatile with any music genre. Now with everything I?ve stated, its all opinion & preference?every drummer?s style & ?ear? is different.
