Couldn't be happier!!!!

I purchased the Xs 20 super set in the "brilliant" finish and I've gotta say, I am LOVING these cymbals! I've been away from drumming for a while (married, kids, bought a house), but recently purchased a new Tama kit to get back into it. I didn't want to spend a ton of money especially not knowing how far this was gonna go because I had been not playing for so many years. At any rate, I am VERY glad I decided to get back into playing and even MORE glad that I decided to get the Xs 20's! They sounded amazing right from the beginnning, but just keep getting better the more I play them. They cut very well and have the perfect amount of sustain. My last kit had a complete set of B8 Pro's and to be honest, I was pretty happy with those. I just wanted to go with something a little better without breaking the bank. The Xs 20 line (in my opinion) is the PERFECT balance of cost / quality... actually, I think you get MORE than what you pay for compared to other brands. I've played the expensive Zildjian's and although they also sound great, these Sabian's sound just as good at a much friendlier price! I've only been playing these for about 2 months now, but so far they look as good as new and are holding up very well (and I'm a heavy hitter). Only time will tell, but if one should start to crack or need to be replaced I'll probably just buy another, they sound THAT good!

Great entery cymbals

I play Rock and Blues, and have done so for over 40 years. These are performance cymbals, they sound good and are very durable. Even if you have the money for more expensive cymbals I would make XS20's some I would at least check out.

I just got the sabians xs20's about three days ago and am pretty happy. I went from having Zildjian's ZBT's to Sabian's XS20's. Theirs a HUGE difference. Ride(20") is fantastic. Same with everything else...except... 18" medium thin crash. Just dosnt do it for me. Didnt sound like the other two crashes it came with. Has a weird sound to it. The high-hats are great! Overall, these are great. Cheaper than Zildjians but still have that great sound a cymbol should make. Im looking forward to hearing what these sound like in studio =) .

Great Pack!

Great set, I highly recommend it....though it's a bit more expensive than the lower end models, it is worth the extra mile. All cymbals sound great, very shimmering and pretty loud. The splash is definetly my favourite, fast attack with a quick decay. The Ride is also sweet, though a bigger bell would be perfect, but can't complain.

Out of the XS20 line, the only ones that are not my cup of tea are the 14'' crash and China. The 14'' crash doesn't have a long sustain and is kinda bland sound wise, so I use it as the bottom hi hat to get a little more definition on the hi hats.

Great Set !!!

If you want nice cymbals but can't afford top line stuff....These are for you. After many years without, I recently bought another acoustic set. I needed decent cymbals but didn't want to spend a grand. I also wanted new over used. After much research, I decided this was the best deal for a large set of cymbals of decent quality. When they arrived I was blown away.I bought the brilliant and these babies are so nice. Overall, the sound quality was very good on all of the cymbals(love the 10 splash and the 16 and 18 crash. The ride and 14 crash are decent. HH's are better than expected). I am very happy with my purchase.Definatly a nice set of cymbals without the huge pricetag.

Excellent mid-range value

By Turtle-IWk8I

from Lafayette, IN

Review of Sabian XS20 Cymbals Super Set with Free 10" Splash & 18" Crash.I recently decided to take up drumming again after almost 2 decades of not playing. I had sold all of my drum kit and gear years ago. My previous kit was a Pearl World Series, 9 piece with a full complement of Zildian A series. Usage was 1 or 2 gigs per month. Genre ranged from classic rock to metal.Being on a fairly tight budget, but not wanting to compromise on quality and sound anymore than I had to, I decided that a mid level cymbal pack was what I would go with. I do not care for the Sabian B8 series and could not justify the cost of the Sabian AA. Zildian should have stuck with their A and K lines as I feel their Z series are beneath them and sound terrible. Since Zildian A series were not going to fit my budget, the XS20 pack was the obvious standout choice. So, what do I feel about these shiny new discs on my stands? I feel that of all the cymbal packs being sold here, this is the best midrange value. A great balance of sound quality vs. cost. I would definitely buy them again. In fact, I will be adding an 18? china crash of the same series as money permits.I am slightly disappointed by their appearance. The silk screened logos are smeared in places and there is pitting in various spots. The lathing is not uniform among all of the cymbals giving the impression that if the logo were removed, it might be difficult to tell that these really are supposed to be the same series. However, all of that is cosmetic. What really matters is how they sound. These are not Zildian A series, and let?s not pretend that they should sound as good. However, they most definitely can hold their own and I don?t regret the purchase at all. What makes this cymbal pack worth the money was the inclusion of the free 10? splash and 18? medium thin crash. I would have liked to see some sort of cymbal bag included though.Review by cymbal (all of this is in context with and relative to the price of the pack):10? splash ? quite good, maybe a 4 out of 5.14? medium thin crash ? horrible at low volume level. Brightens /opens up nicely when struck with a bit of force. 3 out of 516? medium thin crash ? very good with a bit of force applied. Still quite good even at lower volume. 5 out of 5.18? medium thin crash ? excellent with a bit of force applied. Still quite good even at lower volume. 5 out of 5. My favorite cymbal of the pack.20? medium ride ? good, all purpose ride with a clear bell. It gets the job done quite well. 4 out of 5.14? hats ? lower hat is simply too thick. I unpacked it and did a double take. It is the first time I ever saw a cymbal and thought to myself ?Self, you could actually measure the thickness of that cymbal with a tape measure.? I cannot fathom the purpose of it needing to be built like a piece of armor. The top hat is OK, but I really wish Sabian hadn?t fallen short here. Of all the cymbals in this pack, it is the only one that has the potential to fool me into thinking it is a B8 series. Just too chunky with not enough?whatever?brightness, lightness, crispness?something. I need more sizzle and less clank. Anyway, I give the hat set a 3 out of 5.I find it interesting that 2 of the 4 best cymbals in this pack are the free splash and 18 crash.Again, even though I have quibbles with certain cymbals, the pack is definitely worth the money, and for any drummer who is on the fence about needing to keep within a budget and wants a large cymbal selection, but isn?t sure he should go for it, then please consider this pack as a very good option.

Got this set last summer and boy was I in for a surprise. All of them were fantastic and for the price you can't really complain. Also remember that you're getting high end B20 alloy which no other brand offers at this price level. First of all the high hat : great chick but the bell isn't anything special. Sounds ok opened. Crashes : The 16"is my favorite. Its got a great sound at both high and low volumes. The 14" is good but like another reviewer mentioned, it is very 'splash' like. The 18" sounds good if you hit it with a bit a force. I personally don't like it very much. Its personal preference and one of the reviewers below loved it. The splash is terrific and is one of the best sounding splashes I have ever heard. The ride is just a great all purpose cymbal although it does ring a bit more than I would have liked. All in all this is probably the best bang for your buck cymbal set out there and I highly recommend it.

I recently purchased these cymbals as an upgrade from my entry level kit cymbals. So far i have been quite pleased with them.If you are a heavy metal player or you just want really loud cymbals, then i wouldn't recommend these.....but for less velocity type players.....these are perfectthey sound great and are quite cheap in price actuallyoverall.this cymbal pack is a great value for money and intermediates up to advanced players who are looking for good quality cymbals should certainly go for the xs20's

Xs20 Super Set

By Mr.Sandwich

I decided to give these a shot because i needed new cymbals, my last ones were zildjian but those broke, and I'm not even a heavy hitter. I was pleasantly surprised when i got these, the ride has got to be the best I've ever played! The bell is a little small but it cuts through anything! The crashes are delicious. That's the only way to put it. The hi hats however, don't really do it for me. They don't have enough definition, they kind of sound like zbt's. These cymbals sound and play like AAX's. Get yourself some new hats, and you've got a professional sounding set for half the price. I <3 SABIAN!!

Great Value, Quality, & Sound

Just recently started playing again and always had Zildian A's. I didnt want to take the $$ plunge for A's again but didnt want to give up to much quality for a lower line. I spent some time in the music shops and online with both Zildian & Sabian cymbal set configurators to find what I think is the best overall spend without compromising. Simply cant beat this super set of X20's. Amazing price !!! My kit was instantly complete with a really great sound. Thanks Sabian...

Took a chance and WOW! The Bomb Cymbals

By DK aka: Dalumberjack

from Bellflower, CA / L.A CA and Surronding

Took a chance and WOW! These are the Bomb Cymbals (Sabian XS20 Cymbals). I play all types of music, gospel, rock, r&B, country ... etc, to name a few, but I found these cymbals to be very versatile in all the current genres I play. I own Zildjian K series and Sabian AA series and they all work for different sounds and feel, but I am impressed that the XS20's sound equal if not better than these cymbals and they cost LESS! I currently purchased a new drumset (Taye Rockpro) and matched with these cymbals makes for an AWESOME combination and jammin sound. I HIGHLY recommend these to all level of drummers for the quality, great sound, and low cost.

Step Up from the B8's

By Skater1

I was recently having band practice and my drummer had just purchased this cymbal pack. He previously owned the B8 Super Pack, which were an extremely good set of beginner cymbals. But he has dramatically improved since then and can be considered advanced now. These cymbals fit the bill perfectly for the intermediate to advanced drummer. They can play everything from rap and hip-hop to rock and metal. They have a stronger sound and sustain than the B8's and are also much more appealing to the eye. We've played multiple shows with these new cymbals since then and he's received many compliments about his cymbals. They're astonished at how little he paid for them. So in conclusion, a truly fantastic set of cymbals for a truly fantastic price. You just can't go wrong with the Sabian Xs20 Super Set!

Excellent cymbals for thr price and the quality.

By Josué Rivas

from Durango, Mexico.

If you don't wanna buy beginner series, but you can't buy the AA, AAX, HH, HHX series. But you want a full professional sound. Here are, the XS20 series. You will not regret (:
I purchase this cymbals two years ago, I'm from Mexico and here you dont get a full variety of cymbals in the stores. Because that, i bought this cymbals and I can tell you, they are excellent, great, perfect, i have the normal set, no brilliant. I love the sound of the splash, the ride is so smooth, but is so versatile. I play much genres, like rock, metal, jazz, ballads, blues, latin genres, rancheras, boleros, ska, reggae, etc. And this set satisfies all this genres. I have a Tama drum kit of five toms, snare and bass drum, with tambourine and rototoms. It has great sense with this kit.

Before I purchase them, I was looking for the very best choice, I love Sabian and I was looking the B8, B8 Pro, APX, Solar, AA, HHX, but I didn't have much money to buy a AAX set, but I didn't want buy a B8 Set, so, i buy the XS20 set, hoping that they have quality and a good sound.
Of course, that was the choice of my life. A great kit, versatile, nice, and a very very good sound, near to the AA series.

Often, I clean them to take care, I use them daily since two years and they are new.
They had great quality. You can play the genre you want with them. The hi hats are light if you want, or a heavy sound, it depends on you. The 14" Crash it's light, the 16" it's my favorite, is the perfect crash, a medium tone, explosive, versatile, nice to the ear. The 18" it's a cannon, the heavy crash, has a big power, and volume, especially to close that music passages.
The ride is a bit light, no super heavy to play metal, no no. It's light, smooth, perfect for all genres except for ultra death metal and that.
The splash is a nice guy, has a quick decay, bright, it's so nice hear it.
Honestly, I didn't never expect get a Great, Pro, Nice, Full set of cymbals in that price. It worths all the money that they costs.

these are great cymbals and you can bet the price. every cymbal sounds great. they're no A customs but for the price u cant realy beat them. the the 16" and 18" crashes sound amazing. the 14" sounds a bit to much like a splash. the ride has great stick definition and a clear bell. the high hats have a great sound but are kinda quite. the splash is very explosive and like the rest of the set sounds great. all in all great set for your money
