I used this cymbal in a jazz ensemble last year and I just didnt like it very much. To put it plainly it felt "stiff" when i hit it, it didnt produce much sound, and it felt like i was going to shatter it whenever I hit it. Not a comfortable feeling when trying to keep a beat. I prefer the sound of Sabian's chinas over this. It's just not sturdy enough in my opinion.

I cracked this cymbal within a matter of months. It may just be me but this cymbal does not last. Great sound though when it functions.

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

This china sends chills down my spine with every stroke. it has such a great trashy sound and so much brash i nearly tear up at its beauty =D. i just bought it from a local dealer, and i have to say its one of the best cymbals ive ever owned. so far it has done nothing but pleased me. I think anyone who has broken theirs has either tightened it far too much, or had it bell-side up, which is always a no-no with any china. but still, this china is loud, bright, and damn brutal. i definatley recommend it.

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

I got the 20" China boy high about a year ago, and man...it has been a wild ride. This thing is almost perfect, it has a nice full sound, trashy, and all around great. However (for me) it is super long. the ringing goes on for almost 20 seconds. But this was easily fixed by throwing some good old duct tape and perfection was achieved. that is yet another reason why it's so nice. It can be high pitched and ringy (still sounding awesome) or dampened and get dark and fast (still being super loud). BUY IT NOW

Great Classic China

By drumskins

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

If you're looking for a great versatile China that will fit about any genre, then this one should fill the bill. Nice and explosive with a fairly quick decay, yet can be expressive when played lightly. You can't go wrong with this or the Oriental China Trash.

Great China!

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

I honestly think that the people that have cracked their chinas have played too hard. It's a great sounding china, very explosive and great for trashy moments. Also, look on Zildjian's web site. The thickness is "thin," which means be careful haha. Great cymbal overall!

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

If you want a china for just about any type of music, this is it. It is much louder thatn the oriental trash, and it is the same price. Overall, this china is well worth the money. I have played zildjian A's for about 5 years and never had any problems.

Good Cymbal

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

Good China, but expensive. I had mine for about 5 months and then it cracked, about a 1.5' crack, and it happened instantly. You can always hear when a cymbal cracks, it rattles, so it was strange when a crack that large appeared that quickly. Oh well. Thank goodness for warrantys. Good cymbal, GREAT sound. Breaks too easily...

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

I already have an 18" High Boy and one of Neil's 19" Paragon China. Those are great with fast and loud movements, but this 16" give me that extra voice when an 8 or 10" splash isn't enough and the others are too "dark".

I haven't owned it more than 6 months and it already cracked, but it was owned before me. I almost cried! I'm a hard hitter though, so I expected it. The tone seemed too HIGH for me.. hence the name! I think I'll try the low next.

Fantastic full china sound. sounds great played soft or hard, with brushes or marching snare sticks (not recommended) for jazz or metal. Among my favorite china sounds along with the oriental china trash a great and similar cymbal with its own personality. I use the 18's in both.

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

ok so, personally i like this china pretty much alot, the sound is super trashy and loud (own the 20") and it has a great fell with the initial stroke. however it is a LITTLE high pitched for me but still great, currently i think a Paiste Wild China might fufill the need for a lower pitched cymbal, but whatever

I didnt like this one much. Its not too loud and it just not enough china for me. I prefer a ZBT china over this one, screams like a champ. Look around, mix and match.

Comments about Zildjian A Series China High Cymbal:

I bought this Cymbal a year ago and I am still just as satistied with it. It has a great high end "Trashy" sound that sounds great.I play Rock/metal music but this cymbal has the quality that would blend with many genres or styles of music. All of the other cymbals on my set Are Zildjian A's but this China would blend with almost any brand of cymbal. If you're looking for a great China Cymbal with a Decent price then spend your money on this cymbal.
