Comments about Zildjian A Series Mega Bell Ride Cymbal Brilliant:

The A Mega Bell is way more versatile than it's Z Mega Bell predecessor. Unlike the Z version, the A Mega Bell has plenty of spread and "Ping" that is consistantly loud (no matter where you strike it) The bell cuts through any wall of sound. My opinion is that this cymbal can be used with any genre unlike the old "Z" Mega Bell. It all depends on who is playing it. Of course you would't want to buy this for playing Jazz, but for Metal, Rock or even Pop or Country it would work.

The "Z" version of the Mega Bell was like hitting a Manhole cover, The A Mega Bell (while still loud) isn't a one trick pony like the Z Mega Bell.

Comments about Zildjian A Series Mega Bell Ride Cymbal Brilliant:

I have been searching for a ride cymbal this good for years. Tried multiple Paiste rides, a couple of Sabians, and other Zildjian rides. It seemed like all those other rides got lost in the mix. And almost all the places I play at rarely mic the ride. This ride has a VERY strong attack, a nice "ping" sound, and a great bell. I always have had trouble hitting the bell the same way each time, but this bell is so big, it's hard to miss! The bell sound is not as loud as you might imagine, but it's plenty for most uses. While it does have some overtones which I could do without, the wash never overwhelms the attack. It would be a little much for quiet jazz or some country, but otherwise would work for most other types of music.
