Gen16 38 Acoustic-Electric Cymbal Box Set with Direct Source Pickups

The Gen 16 AE Cymbal System is a paradigm shift in cymbal design. Gen16 Acoustic Electric cymbal are patented, low volume acoustic cymbals, which are then tone shaped through Digital Sound Processing using the DCP controller. The Gen16 Direct Source Pickup is a unique one-of-a-kind, patent-pending design for use with Gen16 cymbals, acoustic cymbals and other percussion instruments such as cowbells.

The Direct Source pickup is a two-piece system consisting of the sensor (attaches to cymbal, cowbell, etc) and LED light module & preamp section (attaches to cymbal stand / Hi-Hat stand / drum hardware). The Direct Source Pickup is designed for use only with the Gen16 DCP. Direct Source Pickups allow for more accurate cymbal definition and audio articulation, while completely eliminating feedback, cross-talk, and mic bleeding.

Whatever you can play on a traditional cymbal (brushes, scrapes, chokes, etc.), you can play on these. This allows for optimal playability when compared to a standard cymbal trigger. Each kit includes a dampening pin for each cymbal. This pin can be placed in any hole to reduce overtone, shorten decay, and lower the fundamental pitch of the cymbal.
