OVERVIEW

Revolutionary low-volume cymbals your neighbors will appreciate.

The L80 Low Volume 20 in. Ride is designed to seamlessly integrate into an existing L80 cymbal set. All L80 Low Volume cymbals are Made in the U.S.A.

As a leader in cymbal making, Zildjian is always looking for new and innovative ways to bring a better musical experience to the drumming community. One area where drummers commonly express difficulty is lowering or dampening cymbal volume for practice and smaller gigs, or for the sake of close or sensitive neighbors. To really practice, it’s best to just play as you normally would, rather than ease up to cut volume. Zildjian has come up with an ideal solution—the Low Volume Family of cymbals.

Through tireless research and development, a specialized pattern was achieved to deliver the best of both worlds: musicality and lower volume. This innovative pattern is combined with a special proprietary alloy with a unique matte finish that enables the Low Volume cymbal to have fewer high frequencies and is up to 80% quieter than a traditional cymbal.

Comments about Zildjian L80 Low Volume Ride Cymbal:

I bought this ride to go along with the box set that has the 13" hats and 18" crash/ride. All I can say is "Wow!" I love the sound of this ride. It almost has a slight sizzle to it due to the holes in it. I was looking for a practice set of cymbals, but I am already planning on using these for some of the quieter gigs that I do. You will not be disappointed with the sound of this ride!

Comments about Zildjian L80 Low Volume Ride Cymbal:

This is a good cymbal. However, it it is not quite as quiet as the other cymbals in the L80 line. This probably because it is a bit thicker than the other ones. I was a bit disappointed. Nevertheless. It is a good cymbal, and it is definitively quieter than a regular ride cymbal.

Comments about Zildjian L80 Low Volume Ride Cymbal:

These were an answer to prayer. I've been looking for a balanced practice set up for a long time, and this is it. I practice daily in my home and to keep everyone sane, I needed to tone down the volume, even when playing softly. I used muffle pads on the drums but using cymbal mutes just didn't cut it. No sound or stick response at all. I thought I's give these L80's a try and wow. They are so perfect I can't begin to express my happiness with them. I decided to keep these in the first fifteen seconds I played them. They have great stick response and just the right volume. Even the Hi Hats give a good chick sound. I can play with a force that gives me good deed back and still carry on a normal conversation with those around me. My wide hates loud noise (TV Commercials etc) but is not bothered by these at all. Peace and harmony has descended on drums-ville again, The first drummer friend of mine, a full time performing and studio drummer was blown away by these and asked for my M.F. catalog . I just can's say enough good how these have solved my practice time. I can practice to recorded music at a sane level. I was so impressed with the set I purchased the additional 20" ride.

Comments about Zildjian L80 Low Volume Ride Cymbal:

I'm not a drummer, I'm a pro bass player but I have a good home studio with a drum set. I purchased these to help keep the volume under control, and my drummer LOVES them! They are most certainly recordable, although if I were to add a suggestion to Zildjian it would be to add more choices to the crashes, such as "high" or "low" pitch-wise. What a difference it makes! There is certainly enough volume to hear them, and the responsiveness makes the drummer smile! Best of all, doesn't bother the neighbors or my mother-in-law downstairs!

I use this in my condo along with my other L80 cymbals. I'm very happy with the way they perform.
