Electro-Harmonix has been in the effects game for more than 40 years, playing a crucial role in the sounds of some of the most legendary albums ever recorded. Also referred to as "EHX", Electro-Harmonix dates back to 1968 New York. That's when effects pedals were just starting to take off, and company founder Mike Matthews made his mark on the new industry with units that became part of rock and roll history. It would be fair to say that we partly owe the effects pedal as we know it today to EHX, thanks to the huge influence their circa-1970s models had on the direction of pedal design at the time. Electro-Harmonix was the first to offer a practical unit with the power guitarists were looking for, and veteran musicians who were playing back then are sure to have fond memories of the original Memory Man, Hot Tubes and Electric Mistress pedals.

Probably the most famous pedal EHX ever made, though, is the Big Muff Pi. A favorite of guitarists as high-profile as Kurt Cobain, Pete Townshend, Ace Frehley, David Gilmour, The Edge, Billy Corgan and Jack White, this is a pedal that you're virtually guaranteed to have heard in use even if you've never heard it by name before. When you look at any guitar player's pedalboard, there's a solid chance you'll find a Big Muff gracing it.

Of course, Electro-Harmonix is a lot more than just their various models of Big Muff. You'll also find a bevy of flangers, chorus, delays, loopers, compressors and more. Whatever sort of sound you want to push through those speakers, you can certainly make it happen with one or more Electro-Harmonix effects pedals. From the most subtle tweaks to the boldest signature tone, nothing is out of the question. With all that Electro-Harmonix has done (and continues to do) for musicians, their lofty reputation comes as no surprise. Maybe you're an accomplished pro yourself, or a beginner just getting into effects for the first time - it doesn't matter. EHX pedals are sure to satisfy guitarists of every kind.
