OVERVIEW

Fast and sweet!

The 12-hole chromatic Hohner #7539 Hard Bopper Chromatic Harmonica was designed and constructed to specifications provided by harmonica legend Toots Thielemans. Toots recommends the Hard Bopper's thicker reedplate for blues or rock. The Hard Bopper harmonica's reed design permits the articulate, fast runs demanded by jazz. The Hohner #7539 Hard Bopper harp features a pearwood comb and chromeplating on both covers and mouthpiece.

Comments about Hohner #7539 Hard Bopper Chromatic Harmonica:

This harp is really really good for jazz. However, it is not versatile whatsoever. If you want to play pure jazz this is the way to go. If you want to go for some muddier sounds this is not the harp for you. This is a very clean relaxed harp. Definitly not like the chromatics of Little Walter. For jazz, this is it, if you want versatility go with a 64.

not worth it at all

Comments about Hohner #7539 Hard Bopper Chromatic Harmonica:

I can't believe Toots played this piece. Its got no reliability, clogs easy, is difficult to clean and it must be played on a regular basis if you want it to produce notes at all. I strongly, strongly advise against this harp.
