OVERVIEW

All-solid, traditional flat body construction for an authentic Celtic look, feel and sound.

In the last 30 years, the Irish Bouzouki has come to the forefront of the Celtic music scene. Played in a variety of tunings, the pairs of strings are often tuned A-D-G-C an octave below the mandola. The deep, rich voice of the Irish Bouzouki is perfect for accompaniment as well as lead and solo work. Trinity College, with the introduction of its TM-375 Irish Bouzouki, has answered the prayers of all the players who have no other choice but an expensive, "boutique" instrument. The TM-375 offers the same quality, style and sound for far less cost. Every TM-375 is fully shop-adjusted prior to shipment, and each is furnished with a deluxe, hardshell case.

Comments about Trinity College TM-375 Standard Irish Bouzouki:

Hi Musicians Friend. Somehow you guys got the photos of the trinity college line from Saga out of place. You have the octave mandolin where the bouzouki should be. Hint: The scale length of the bouzouki is 26 inches, of the tree TC mandos it is the longest neck. Cheers

            • Fingerpicked accompaniment to my female tenor!

Comments about Trinity College TM-375 Standard Irish Bouzouki:

Back in the mid 70s, I learned to play alternating fingerpicking patterns on my Folk Lute I bought in Germany. It opened a whole new world for me as I'm a female tenor and had difficulty finding people who could transpose accompaniment for me. Fifteen years ago I gave it up, and when I turned 75 decided to take it up again but found arthritis had limited my ability to play. Discovered 8 string ukulele and was successful at using it as I had my lute. Then I began to wonder, how about an 8 string lute---my search led me to Irish Bouzouki Two months ago, a local luthier asked me if I'd ever heard of an Irish Bouzouki---research, a lot of it, led me to the Trinity College TM 375. I actually found a new one for sale in a store in St. Louis, but it would have cost me a lot more than what MF was asking. I stroked my fingers across the strings and fell in love with the sound! I read reviews on many sites, one in particular saying words to the effect, not to be concerned about the IB being made in China as "the Chinese-made IB would equal any American made IB. What an amazing instrument, and altho most often used as loud rhythm instrument, I've found it perfect for accompaniment for my female tenor voice. Working on Rosemary's Sister by Huw Williams right now. Love, love, love my TM 375!!!!

Comments about Trinity College TM-375 Standard Irish Bouzouki:

This is an amazing instrument. The build and the finish are perfect. The included hard shell case is adequate. I am using this as a backup instrument in our worship team. Usually play it when there is also a mandolin in the mix but I did use it with all guitars last week when "Amazing Grace" was one of the songs. When I first started looking at bouzoukis this was my first choice until I played a Lafferty (US made in Nashville) but that instrument was out of budget and this instrument sounds almost as nice. I use standard mandolin tuning (GDAE) but other tunings can be used. The factory installed strings are not available in gauges (as a set) you can purchase. John Pearse 5200L are close and for my style of playing may sound better. It does not have an upper strap button so I installed one as for me the instrument did not lay right when a trap was tied up at the head stock. The instrument was set up when I received it. I mean the bridge was already in place. As you may know many places may ship an instrument with a floating bridge in the box and you have to set it up before use. All I had to do was tune it. MF shipped very quickly and it was well packaged.
