Smaller-bodied, all-mahogany acoustic with special B-BAND electronics.

Ibanez's Regent 266 models are beautifully finished and have a deep, glass-like shine. The vintage sunburst on mahogany brings out the grain to create a warm look to match its tone. Our mahogany top guitars have a focused sound with strong mids, great for recording and live work.

The onboard SYS250 EQ and pickup is designed by B-BAND and provides high-quality output and additional functionality from its accurate, chromatic back-lit tuner.

Regent 266's are designed to get the best out if its components and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience rarely found in such affordable instruments.

Comments about Alvarez Regent RF266 OM/Folk Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just great get one while they are on sale. I admit I'm a bit partial to this guitar,(it's for my sons 14th birthday and I received an Alvarez acoustic when I was 14. As it is not for me but for a beginner and it fits the family tradition I would have been happy anyways), but that doesn't change the fact that it would be a good deal at normal price but on sale its a steal. Looks great, sounds great. Electronics work swimmingly, feedback at loud volumes without a soundhole cover and all just like you would expect.
i love how the tuner mutes the pickup when engaged. The Alvarez on headstock is cheap pearl imitation but still looks good. Like a mixture of pearl and silver lettering. It does not look deep set, very shallow like silver sharpie, but still looks better than gold lettering on cheap acoustics. The same can be said for abalone rosette, looks cheap and shallow but still better than most cheap guitars. The overall finish is beautiful, the back and sides look gorgeous, the wood just glows, and the look and feel is comparable to much pricier guitars. The weight and "solidness" of it is up there with Martins and Taylors. And it is loud with more midrange than my Fender Sonoran. The midrange may be the "flat sound" other reviewer refers to. Sounds better fingerpicked than strummed in my opinion, but still sounds good either way. The strings, at least the B, do bind a little in the nut and it does appear that the nut could use work, but won't be an issue unless you bend open at the headstock. There were a few slight scuff marks or something barely noticeable in a few spots, could be a factory issue or shipping but not a big deal. As I said barely noticeable and always an issue with guitars. This is going to be a great 1st guitar for my kid. Thanks, MF.

For the money this a good guitar. After some adjustments it plays very well. I plan on using it as a backup guitar to my Martin when performing.
