The BR-160 also has a solid, select Indian rosewood back and sides, white body binding with a delicate herringbone inlay around the top, and a lightly toned high-gloss top finish. Comments about Blueridge BR-160A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I ordered this guitar based on the good reviews I had read online. It was my understanding that for the money, the Blueridge guitar is a quality instrument. My first impression out of the box was disappointing. The Adirondack top was not book matched. The wood looked to be flawed and had dark spots in it from what appeared to be some type of trauma. Also, upon closer examination of the string spacing, the number three and number four strings were farther apart than the rest. To me, it just spoke to the build quality. As I played the instrument, the sound seemed to be muffled. While it had a good bass response, and you could feel that in the body of the guitar, the overall sound was somewhat muddy. I was surprised by this based on other Adirondack tops I've played and the punch they have. The neck of the guitar seemed to feel wider than the 1 3/4" advertised. The overall construction and seems of the guitar work great. Maybe this was a lemon. I'm certainly not ruling out ordering a Br160, or Br140 to give Blueridge another shot. For the price point, this could be a great guitar if you find a good one.

Comments about Blueridge BR-160A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I buy, sell, and trade guitars like baseball cards. I have owned 3 D-28s, and a Guild D40. This guitar looked awesome and was ready to play right out of the box. It's a little tight, but I already have a Tonerite on it. It's going to be a Hoss!

Comments about Blueridge BR-160A Adirondack Top Craftsman Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have a Martin HD28V also. Bought this guitar to take to places that I don't want to expose my Martin to. The sound of the BR 160A is very close to my Martin. As for the statement of dark spots in the Adi top, that is pretty normal with the tops now. Mine has two very dark lines running through it. Clean Adi spruce is very hard to come by these days. This guitar is the best value for the money out there. As with all guitars, play before you buy, if you can. Everyones ear is different.
