Overview

A hardtail San Dimas with JB/’59 pickups and gold hardware.

The Charvel American Neo-Classic San Dimas SD1 HH HT electric guitar gives players the speed and aggression of a hot-rodded San Dimas with the direct response and tuning stability of a hardtail bridge. Its alder San Dimas Style 1 body delivers balanced resonance with warm midrange punch and crisp high-end clarity, while the one-piece quartersawn maple neck and quartersawn maple fingerboard are based on authentic 1980 specifications and reinforced with graphite for modern stability. A Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge humbucker and Seymour Duncan ’59 SH-1N neck humbucker provide high-output bite, vintage warmth and flexible split-coil combinations through a 5-way blade switch. Available in multiple gloss finishes with gold hardware, locking tuners, Luminlay side dots and an included Charvel Multi-Fit hardshell gig bag, the SD1 HH HT is built for players who want tight attack, streamlined control and classic Charvel performance without a tremolo system.

Alder San Dimas Body With Hardtail Focus

The San Dimas Style 1 body keeps the design clean, direct and performance-driven, with no pickguard and a gloss finish that lets the silhouette do the talking. Alder gives the guitar a balanced tonal base that works well for tight rhythm parts, articulate lead lines and split-coil settings, while the hardtail platform emphasizes immediate attack and strong tuning stability. The available gloss color options and gold hardware give the hardtail model a sharp stage look without distracting from its stripped-down performance layout.

JB Bridge Bite and ’59 Neck Warmth

The Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge pickup gives the SD1 HH HT the output and upper-mid push needed for saturated leads, palm-muted riffs and hard rock rhythm work. The Seymour Duncan ’59 SH-1N neck pickup balances that aggression with warmer, rounder humbucker tones for expressive leads, chord work and smoother clean passages. A 5-way blade switch adds useful split-coil combinations, giving players bridge humbucker, bridge outer coil with neck inner coil, both pickups, bridge inner coil with neck outer coil and neck humbucker sounds from one streamlined control layout.

Quartersawn Maple Neck With Stainless Steel Frets

The one-piece quartersawn maple neck is built with bolt-on construction, graphite reinforcement and a natural satin finish, giving the guitar the fast feel Charvel players expect with added resistance to climate and tension changes. Its 12"–16" compound-radius maple fingerboard starts comfortable for lower-position chords and flattens higher up the neck for bends and lead work. Twenty-two jumbo stainless steel frets provide crisp note definition and long-term durability, while rounded fingerboard edges and Luminlay side dots make the neck feel comfortable and easy to read onstage.

Charvel Hardtail Bridge and Locking Tuners

The Charvel hardtail bridge gives the SD1 HH HT a stable, direct feel with strong sustain and simplified maintenance compared with a double-locking tremolo setup. Charvel sealed die-cast locking tuners help keep the guitar stable while making string changes faster, and the bone nut supports clear string transfer at the headstock. The dual-action truss rod with wheel access at the fingerboard end makes setup adjustments fast and practical, especially for players who need to respond quickly to climate, string or action changes.

Streamlined Electronics for Responsive Performance

The SD1 HH HT's control layout keeps everything focused: one 500K EVH Bourns low-friction volume pot, one dome-style knob and a 5-way blade switch. The low-friction volume control is ideal for quick swells and fast level adjustments, while the expanded blade switching gives the HH pickup set more tonal range than a standard hardtail rock guitar. Complete with an included Charvel Multi-Fit hardshell gig bag, the American Neo-Classic San Dimas SD1 HH HT electric guitar delivers hardtail precision, JB/’59 versatility and fast American Neo-Classic San Dimas feel.
