Overview

P90-style bite in a refreshed DANO platform.

The Danelectro Dan O. Mano electric guitar brings a thicker, grittier voice to the new DANO lineup with a pair of P90-style pickups housed in a lightweight Danelectro-inspired platform. Built for players who want stronger midrange presence, sharper attack and a more aggressive push into fuzz, overdrive and small tube amps, the Dan O. Mano gives the refreshed DANO family its most direct 6-string personality. Its hardboard top and back with solid spruce body frame preserve the resonant, quirky construction style that made Danelectro guitars stand apart, while the updated DANO shape, 1950s-inspired colors and vintage hardware cues give the instrument a fresh look without turning it into a straight reissue. A bolt-on hard maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with a 14" radius and 21 medium jumbo frets round out the familiar playing platform.

P90-Style Pickups With Midrange Punch and Edge

The Dan O. Mano is the P90-style model in the DANO family, giving it a thick, direct voice with added midrange emphasis and a more immediate attack. The dual pickups respond particularly well to garage rock, indie, alternative and fuzz-driven rhythm tones, offering a rougher-edged character than the brighter, cleaner voices typically associated with classic Danelectro designs. That combination makes this model a strong fit for players who like the attitude and response of P90-equipped guitars but want something lightweight, visually distinct and unmistakably DANO.

Hardboard and Spruce Construction With Retro Character

Like the rest of the new DANO lineup, the Dan O. Mano uses a hardboard top and back with a solid spruce body frame, giving the guitar a lightweight feel and lively acoustic response. A 1954-style full bell headstock, 1954-style rosewood saddle bridge and 1958-style skate key tuners reference Danelectro’s mid-century design language while preserving the unmistakable visual identity that has long set the brand apart. For players who prefer a more contemporary setup and intonation approach, Danelectro also includes a modern steel adjustable saddle bridge that can be swapped in place of the preinstalled rosewood bridge. These vintage-inspired details help the Dan O. Mano feel rooted in Danelectro history without framing it as a strict period-correct recreation.

Comfortable Playability for Garage and Alternative Styles

A bolt-on hard maple neck with a C profile gives the Dan O. Mano a familiar, easy-playing feel, while the rosewood fingerboard, 14" radius and 21 medium jumbo frets support everything from driving rhythm work to loose, expressive lead playing. The 25" scale length balances snap and flexibility, landing between traditional short-scale and long-scale electric guitar designs. For players drawn to lightweight construction, gritty P90-style response and unmistakable retro personality, the Danelectro Dan O. Mano electric guitar delivers a distinctive alternative to traditional solidbody designs.
