OVERVIEW

Slim body design and cutaway make this an easy 12-string to make sing.

Introducing the Fulton—D’Angelico’s first-ever 12-string acoustic. Its smaller, 16-in.-wide body provides grace and playability, with a slim C-shape neck creating greater ease for 12-string playing. The Fulton's high end is crystalline, while the bass is robust, creating remarkable tonal balance. Its single-cutaway Grand Auditorium design and slightly longer headstock give the Fulton a nostalgic look, but with a clear, glistening sound suited for the modern player. Case sold separately.

A Stunning Instrument and Tremendous Value

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Fulton 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

OVERVIEW: Truth be told, I was somewhat apprehensive on purchasing another Made in China instrument but this D'Angelico breaks all of my preconceptions on MIC guitars and has now become my benchmark. I am totally blown away from its looks, fit & finish, tonality, and playability. A solid 5-Stars for the price point of this stunning instrument and one tremendous value.

NUT WIDTH: Actually measures 1.86" (47.25mm) that although may be considered wide for a 6-string, it is just about perfect for a 12-string.

BODY WOOD: Some sites advertise and picture the Premier Fulton with Mahogany laminate back/sides, while other sites (MF being one) advertise and picture it with Rosewood laminate back/sides. The Fulton I received is indeed Rosewood.

SETUP: Now like most all guitars (USA & Custom Shop included) there is always a better setup for my playing requirements. I play with a much lighter touch and therefore can afford lower action and less neck relief. So about a ½ turn of the truss rod (tighter) and a tad lowering of the bone saddle (more on the bass side), dropped the action to about 3.25/64th high-E and 4.25/64th low-E.

ISSUE: The Fishman Presis+ preamp tuner button will not stay down sufficient enough to activate the tuner without holding it down. I would fault Fishman here and not D'Angelico. Any other instrument I would have exchanged it out for another, or sent it back for a full refund (MF was sold out in the VS finish). But I bonded with this guitar almost immediately out of the box and a non-functioning tuner was not going to be a show stopper in this instance. Musician's Friend was able to credit me an agreeable amount and we both are satisfied.

CLOSING: I am 66 years old, have been playing off/on for about 50 years, and have owned about a half dozen 12-strings and this D'Angelico Fulton ranks right up there, if not better, for the clear ringing balanced tone and somewhat better for overall play-ability and fit-finish.

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Fulton 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After deliberating over a few 12 string acoustic-electrics, I bought this a few weeks ago. I was a bit reluctant to buy a laminate wood, Chinese made guitar, but it got good reviews so I got it. My fears were realized when the first guitar arrived. There was a major scratch in the finish below the sound hole, and the internal electronics of the input jack were completely loose inside the body of the guitar. It didn't even have a battery included for the tuner! Really not sure how that one got by quality control at D'Angelico. MF's customer service, however, came through as they always do. Shipped a new one out immediately.

The second guitar has been fantastic. Plays and sounds great, and is very comfortable to play. It does have that laminate feel and sound, but overall is a great value. I'll give it 4/5 stars for the QC issues, but definitely a solid recommendation to anyone who wants gig worthy, above-average 12-string acoustic-electric.

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Fulton 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had high expectations for this 12-string, considering the D'Angelico flag, and it has exceeded them all. I have a hard time putting this guitar down, I'm afraid the other seven guitars in my collection are getting jealous!

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Fulton 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After reading the good reviews, I kinda expected a decent guitar. From the moment I opened the box I was very pleased. This guitar is a beauty. It plays very nice. perfect action right out of the box. Nice sound. Stays in tune. The headstock is just gorgeous. I am super happy. I could have spent a lot more but im glad I didn't.

Comments about D'Angelico Premier Fulton 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my first D'Angelico guitar. I've always loved the styling, but have reluctant to buy one because the Chinese shops can be inconsistent depending on in house quality control. I am impressed with this model. The neck, frets and setup are perfect out of the box. The fit and finish rivals the best Korean shops. The tuners hold tune well. The overall sound is consistent. It really shines when the Fishman is plugged in.
I was a bit surprised, considering the very apparent quality control, that the pickguard had a hunk of plastic glued under it, making a considerable lump near the sound hole. With careful prying, I peeled back the guard and removed the piece.
Even more perplexing was the feral 9 volt battery. It managed to slip out of the poorly conceived battery box clip during shipping. It was a mini wrecking ball inside the guitar body, but after careful inspection with a mirror and flashlight I determined there wasn't any structural damage. This is a Fishman problem but it is a D'Angelico decision to install a cheaply made piece on their otherwise stellar, highly playable 12 string.
Taking all of this into consideration and that I got the guitar for an unbelievable 'Stupid Deal' price, I've decided to keep the guitar.
