Comments about Fender Classic Design Series CD-140SCE Mahogany Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just got mine in yesterday after having it sent out through overnight delivery and here is my honest opinion of it. The stock strings that Fender puts on these are not that good and the tuners were very loose . The quality control over in Indonesia has slipped IMO, seeing how they used to do a outstanding job years ago when they were manufacturing the Squier Standard Strats . This meant that I had to do a complete setup which included adjusting the truss rod, shaving down the bridge saddle, cleaning the fret board with some Lemon Oil and then putting on a new set of Elixirs . Once I did all of that, there was a huge difference in both the playability, and sound of the guitar . The Fishman Presys onboard pre-amp is A-one as far as I'm concerned . It blends very well with my Fishman Loud Box mini and the included manual for it, gives you several tone variations which is a welcomed plus. The weight on this is actually very light which may be attributed to the fact that it's all Mahogany ? Either way, this 60 year old dude appreciates that. I have a show tonight which I will be using this at, so I will see how it'll hold up in a live setting. So all in all, I like it and once I did a set up , it was a good investment !

Ok, I don't actually own one, but a friend does. Am blown away by the feel and tone, he gigs with it constantly, and says he'll never get rid of it. Great bang for buck!
