OVERVIEW

Lightweight with punchy tone and easy-to-use electronics.

The Fender FA-135CE Concert Acoustic Guitar is built on the concert-style platform for a sleek, modern design. The laminated spruce top features X-bracing for bright, punchy tone, ideal for lead guitar. The neck is nato, and the back and sides are laminated basswood-both tonewoods known for letting the mid and high frequencies sing out.

Thanks to the basswood back and sides, the Fender FA-135CE is very light, avoiding strain to your neck or back during prolonged playing. The chrome tuners offer precision tuning. The guitar also features an impressive electronics system, featuring the Fishman ION-T preamp and built-in chromatic tuner, which provides lightning-fast tuning and amplification. The preamp features a volume dial, phase and contour buttons, and a tuner power button.

The FA135CE is fashioned with a gloss polyurethane finish, aged fretboard and body bindings, and a white concentric ring rosette that offers a striking contrast, and an appearance as beautiful as its sound.

Case sold separately.

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I expected a poorly constructed toy at this price but was pleasantly surprised. The Finish was very nice, the neck was straight, the frets were decent, the intonation was spot on and the tuners stayed in tune, something even high priced guitars have a problem with. Plays good and lightweight without sacrificing any tone. With a little set up, new strings it matched some mid range priced AC Electrics out there.

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Learning and practicing. The built in tuner is an excellent tool for students and those just beginning. Lightweight guitar with a thinner body makes it easy to feel around this guitar. Looks great and has a nice finish. I have the sunburst color with black back and neck.

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am quite pleased with this guitar, though it is far from perfect. The overall look is very good, the finish is, perhaps, a bit too glossy. The basswood, back and neck are stained a rich reddish mahogany color and look quite rich. The strings are quite bad as delivered, but cheap enough to replace. I can correct the action when I do that. So a bit about the action: It ranges from slightly over one mm at the nut, to nearly 5mm at the sound hole, and 4mm at the 12th fret. This really needs to be fixed. The sound is quite full for a small guitar, though it lacks a good bass response (again, not a dreadnought). The electronics are good and it sounds great through an amp. However the built-in tuner is all but useless. Overall, it is well made (the fret ends are nicely milled and not tiny razors as is common on inexpensive guitars). The machines are not very good and it only holds tune for a day or two. The pick guard is very thin. But it's a perfectly good guitar for a beginner. Better than most in the price range (especially at the MF price). See my comments under delivery, though...

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this as a travel guitar. I'm on the road a lot and needed something I could practice with and that sounded better than those mini / baby guitars which sound mini/baby to me, and that didn't cost what my "nice" guitars do at home. I played everything in the acoustic room and reluctantly picked this thing up (because it was the cheapest) and I was surprised to find that it had a full rich sound. Very playable, adjustable truss rod and ok action right out of the box. I couldn't put it down and walked out with it....and it has built in electronics / tuner as a bonus. Now, it has some frets edges, and other minor cosmetics, and doesn't play like a Taylor/Martin/Gibson, but sounds great and stays in tune. Maybe I got lucky but for a toy prices guitar, it sounds great. Great for beginner, practice, extra, spare guitar.

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Good for rehearse and jams. Good to plug in to an amp on occasion. The strings were a little higher off the frets than I like, but not a big deal, as some like it like that and I can fix it for my style of playing.
