OVERVIEW

A rounded neck and a list of high performance features.

The Les Paul Faded 2016 HP is the supercharged counterpart of the traditional SG Faded. It boasts an extraordinary set of premium, high-performance features while maintaining the rugged looks that are the Faded Series’ signature, including an exclusive fast-access heel, developed specifically for the Gibson USA High Performance lineup, to allow unprecedented access to the high notes - which combined with the new soloist neck width, provides the fastest and most comfortable SG neck you’ve ever played.

Titanium metal for the saddles and the adjustable zero-fret nut delivers a bright, crisp tone, while being virtually indestructible and ensuring total, personalized control over the action. The SG Faded arrives protected by a high-performance gig bag, and already set up by expert luthiers for immediate playability.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded HP Electric Guitar:

The guitar arrived in 4 days. I unpacked it and was greeted by a perfect specimen of Gibson USA goodness. The guitar was flawless----and I checked it over carefully. Once I sussed out the GForce Tuner, I got it tuned up and played for awhile. Excellent----all I needed to do was to slightly tighten the truss rod and lower the string action a bit, but this is to be expected. Gibson doesn't know how I like my guitar setup and I am a fussy SOB, so they get credit for sending out a playable instrument. The action, tone, pickups, feel etc., are all first class. You can feel it. BTW, try the GForce before knocking it. I love it so far. Listen---I own a nice Epiphone Les Paul Trad Pro and it is a fine instrument, but the Gibson is just a step up, and a real pleasure to own. No regrets!

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded HP Electric Guitar:

I bought this as my first real Gibson. I have played custom shops and standards, but none have been worth the money to me, as I'm on a relatively fixed income. I wanted a les Paul, and I didn't want to buy an epiphone. I have an epiphone SG that is phenomenal, but wanted a true Gibson. When I bought it, it sounded great. I changed the strings to an 11 set, and this god awful buzzing appeared. Turns out I had to file the zero nut, btw titanium sucks to work with. I rolled the fingerboard as this has no binding, and now it feels amazing and sounds great. I'm not a huge fan of how crass the bb pros sound, but they do well with the tone knob rolled off and the pickups lowered to be flush with the mount rings. I've had extremely good luck with the Gforce, because I do it in single string tuning mode instead of a full strum mode. Takes a little longer but is more precise. Overall, I'm very happy with it. Sounds great through my Reason bambino Grande head and cab. Pickups are relatively quiet, I'm pretty sure these aren't wax potted so they pick up a good bit of pick noise. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's not big on flashy but wants a great Gibson.

Comments about Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded HP Electric Guitar:

Set up was good as delivered...adjusted to my own preference and my choice of strings. G-Force tuner turns out to be much better than expected....string change took 3 minutes or less. Though it looks nice, appearance isn't that big a factor to me and why I didn't feel it was necessary to shoot the moon on a higher-end copy. It does what a Les Paul is suppose to do and plays as well as any.
