The 1959 Les Paul from the Gibson Custom Shop is an historically accurate reproduction of an original Holy Grail 1959 Les Paul. Countless original 1959 Les Pauls were inspected, measured, scanned, and recorded. Every Les Paul from the era was a little different from every other. Necks, top carves, heels, pickups, even the dimensions of the binding could vary. Sometimes by incremental measurments, sometimes more.

The Gibson Custom Shop created a spec that most accurately reproduced the combination of all of these original guitars. The result is a great playing Tone Monster that will become the next Holy Grail for players, fans, and collectors alike. The dramatic and unique Quilt Maple top is hand-selected from countless board feet of Quilted Maple. Quilt being among the most rare of "Figure" anomalys to occur in Maple.
