Classic features and amazing tone make this one a Les Paul fan's dream come true.

The 1960 Les Paul Reissue Plaintop Electric Guitar retains the solid mahogany body and carved maple top that laid down the Les Paul' legendary sonic signature, along with its quartersawn mahogany neck with long-tenon neck joint.

In addition to these details, the 1960 Les Paul Reissue also benefits from a one-piece rosewood fretboard, Kluson Deluxe machine heads, hot-hide glue neck fit, a Historic Truss Rod assembly with no tubing, accurate body and fingerboard binding color, Custom Buckers created in the image of the original PAFs, and period-correct Aniline dye for the guitar' back and sides.

Gibson Custom Bucker accurately recreates the original PAFs of the late ™50s, using Alnico III magnets and unequal turns of 42 AWG wire in each coil for that characteristic PAF œbite. These pickups clean up beautifully at the guitar' volume controls, while Bumble Bee tone caps assist in that warm, singing œwoman tone when you roll back the tone controls. To top it all off, the 1960 Les Paul Reissue plays superbly right out of its hardshell case thanks to a trip through one of Gibson' state-of-the-art Plek machines before it leaves the Shop floor.

Comments about Gibson 1960 Les Paul Reissue Plaintop Electric Guitar:

This is a decent guitar, but not great. The neck is the best thing about it. It has a very nice comfortable shape. The rosewood fretboard is very smooth and does not have an open grain look, or rough surfaces like other Les Pauls I've seen. I had to do a string height adjustment, and a few minor intonation adjustments. Besides that, the guitar holds its tuning and intonation very well. The Custombuckers have a bright attack, which is not exactly what I expected. I thought a 60s reissue would have a more balanced & midrange pickup sound. The guitar did have a scuff on the edge near the binding and a small "ding," or "dent" on the cap between the volume controls and bridge. Gibson needs to either use high magnification inspection tools, or improve their inspection techniques. I bought this guitar for a decent price, considering it is a Custom Gibson Les Paul. This guitar has the aniline dye, hide glue, electronics, bumblebee caps, etc., everything the fancier flame tops have. So with this said, and with the skyrocketing prices of Gibson guitars, I think I'll keep this one.
