The maple tops are selected by hand in the Gibson Custom Shop for their visually unique properties. Countless original 1958 Les Pauls were examined, measured, and recorded using the most sophisticated technology available. The end result is a stunning example of the greatest attributes of the 1958 Les Paul accurately reproduced by hand at the Gibson Custom Shop.

This is one of a very limited number of HEAVY AGED guitars, every lacquer check, wear pattern, nick and ding painstakenly created by artists within the Gibson Custom Shop. You would have a difficult time telling this guitar from a 50-plus-year-old original.
