Uniquely Versatile Electronics

Aside from the exceptionally cool looks that are inherent in the SG Custom lineage, the electronics are the real feature of this guitar. Each of the three BurstBucker pickups is voiced slightly differently. With the hottest pickup at the bridge, tapering down to a relatively mellow neck pickup, it's easy to go from scream to whisper without touching anything other than the pickup switch. Individual volume knobs for each pickup, with the middle pickup being independently blendable with the neck and bridge, expand the tonal range even further. A master tone knob and a pickguard-mounted master volume keeps it all under control. Each pickup is also independently coil-splittable, via the push/pull volume pots, offering up even more tonal variations. If you can't find the tone you want in this guitar, it may not exist.

Eye-catching Appearance

We're also loving the classic SG Custom looks. The three-pickup SG has always been special, and the Kirk Douglas Signature stays true to that tradition. Classic all-mahogany construction and white-bound 22-fret rosewood fingerboard pay tribute to the original. The signature "Captain" Lyre vibrato tailpiece continues the echo. Distinctive Inverness Green with nickel hardware and Ebony with gold hardware versions give distinctive looks, for the kind of subtle flash that draws the eye, without overwhelming the guitar or the player.
