OVERVIEW

A classic with a golden touch

The single largest-selling guitar in Gibson's long history is the SG. Deceptively simple in its elegant design, it's been a rock staple since it was first introduced. The classic look of Alpine White with gold hardware combined with the vintage-style tone of a pair of '57 Classic Humbuckers make this SG Standard Gold Series extra special. With Gibson's popular SlimTaper neck on a solid mahogany body, the sound and feel are truly classic, and the gold-finished hardware adds to the overall vibe.

Comments about Gibson SG Standard Gold Series Limited Edition Electric Guitar:

I've been gigging professionally since 1965. Old and experienced! Initially, since this is a more expensive limited edition Gibson SG, I was SHOCKED to see "Studio" on the truss rod cover instead of the "SG" in the photo. I posted a SCATHING REVIEW without thinking things thru, blaming MF for sending me a cheap substitute. Cutting to the chase, this was NOT MF's fault. The Gibson tech put the wrong truss cover on... after a call to them, that was verified and the correct one is being sent to me direct from Gibson Nashville. This guitar plays beautifully and the '61 buckers simply smoke. Sustain is nearly endless. I'm normally a Fender guy but this Alpine White Beauty is taking the front seat from now on. Unlike some of the older SG's this one is NOT neck heavy in the least. Save up your $$$ for one of these but don't wait long... they won't be around forever in a limited edition model!

Comments about Gibson SG Standard Gold Series Limited Edition Electric Guitar:

I was hesitant to pull the pin on this purchase, given the problems Gibson has dealt with of late... couples with the purchase of a 2017 ebony SG Standard purchase last year... a guitar I didn't care for.
THIS guitar is outstanding... perfect in fit finish, factory set up is outstanding. I can't foresee parting with it. It is coupled with a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp, and I'm having a blast.
