Overview

A baritone Victory built for extended-range Gibson power.

A 28" scale length and B-to-B tuning take Gibson's revived Victory platform into deeper, extended-range territory with the Victory Baritone electric guitar. Sitting below the register of a standard electric guitar, it pairs a double-cutaway mahogany body and glued-in mahogany neck with a compound-radius ebony fingerboard and newly developed Gibson Elev8 humbuckers, delivering a lower, thicker voice while retaining the attack and definition of a solidbody electric. Push/pull controls expand the pickup options with coil splitting and inner/outer coil selection, while rear-mounted electronics and a pickguard-free body give this baritone Victory a streamlined identity. A Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stop Bar tailpiece, Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners and .013–.062 baritone strings complete an extended-range instrument built for modern rock, heavy styles and players exploring lower tunings.

28" Baritone Scale Expands the Victory Voice

The extended 28" scale length provides the tension and clarity needed for lower-register B-to-B tuning. That added length helps keep riffs, chords and melodic lines defined at pitches below a standard guitar while maintaining a distinctly guitar-like response and playing experience. The result is a deeper range suited to heavy rhythm work, alternate voicings and melodic textures that extend beyond conventional guitar tuning. For players looking to explore baritone range without moving fully into bass territory, the Victory Baritone offers a purpose-built extended-scale platform.

Elev8 Humbuckers With Push/Pull Switching

A pair of Gibson Elev8 humbuckers complements the extended range with Alnico 8 magnets and custom-gauge wiring designed for powerful response with clarity and articulation. The 3-way toggle covers the standard neck, bridge and combined pickup positions, while push/pull master volume and tone controls add coil splitting and inner/outer coil selection when split. These switching options move beyond full humbucking tones into leaner split-coil textures, giving players additional ways to shape riffs, chords and lead parts without crowding the control surface.

Mahogany Body and Set Neck With Updated Contours

The double-cutaway mahogany body uses updated Victory contours for comfort and balance, helping the longer-scale instrument sit naturally against the player and on a strap. A glued-in mahogany neck provides the solid feel associated with Gibson set-neck construction, while the Rounded C profile offers substantial but familiar support in the fretting hand. Together, the mahogany construction and revised contours retain the distinctive character of the original 1980s Victory design while adapting the platform to the dimensions and playing demands of a modern baritone guitar.

Compound-Radius Ebony Fingerboard for Lower Tunings

The ebony fingerboard uses a 10"–16" compound radius, providing comfortable curvature for lower-position chords before gradually flattening toward the upper register for bends, leads and extended-range phrasing. Twenty-four medium jumbo frets provide ample range across the 28" scale, while acrylic dot inlays maintain a clean, familiar layout. A Graph Tech nut and Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners complete the neck hardware, supporting stable tuning and precise adjustment with the heavier .013–.062 string set used for B-to-B tuning.

Clean Rear-Routed Design and Gibson Hardware

Unlike the standard Victory models, the baritone version omits the pickguard and mounts its electronics from the rear, giving the double-cutaway body a cleaner, more streamlined appearance. A Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece provide familiar Gibson adjustment and string anchoring, complemented by chrome hardware and black top hat knobs. Available in multiple colors and supplied with a hardshell case, the Gibson Victory Baritone is tailor-made for players seeking deeper tunings without giving up the feel and response of a solidbody electric.
