Updated aesthetics, modern materials and classic Gretsch panache.

The power and cut of a vintage Double Jet has been combined with updated aesthetics and modern materials to create the G5448 Double Jet, a Limited Edition Firebird Red riffing machine that demands to be turned loose on your music. Harnessing the sound of thunder, this stylishly elegant double-cutaway guitar will leave both your heart and ears pounding with the fury of rock n' roll.

Dual Gretsch Professional Collection FilterTron humbucking pickups crank out monstrously huge riffs with ease from raw, thunderously pounding chords to biting, stinging riffs, their high voltage sound provides a unique modern voice for this guitar.

A highly resonant arched maple top and chambered basswood body provide plenty of sustain and well-balanced tone with robust low end and sparkling highs. The tried-and-true Adjusto-Matic bridge, G-cutout tailpiece, and vintage-style tuning machines create highly stable tuning and accurate intonation, creating a rock-solid foundation for your playing.

The sophisticated double-bound body with black back, sides and neck belies the primal rock power contained within. Gold hardware and headstock logos along with a contrasting black pickguard further add to the visual package, matching the loud, bold sound with arresting aesthetic appeal. The G5448 Limited Edition Electromatic Double Jet Firebird Red will tear down any house with stunning looks and fiery rock tone.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5448 Limited Edition Electromatic Pro Jet Electric Guitar:

I played one at a store first to see it it sounded good - it did! I ordered one from MF - it's the same, no differences. I did not get a case yet. A gorgeous guitar with the slightly warm Firebird Red finish and gold hardware. It is THICK - a very substantial guitar. Very flat, low action, plays in tune. Needed only minor tuning adjustment right out of the box. The tuning keys were a little stiff, but it was cold outside. The tone controls are useful in shadings of tone, and the master volume is good for quick adjustments. Controls are even and full range. The pickups are shimmery and twangy, but overdrive nicely when played HARD. Beatles and AC/DC tones are both available. The descending riff from "Help" is in there, so is the madly driven rhythm part for "Thunderstruck" and "For Those About to Rock". I tested mine through a small, Kustom HV20 amp (10 inch speaker), with the "boost" on, a little reverb, through the rhythm/clean channel, with the pre-volume and volume up pretty high. Try playing "Jingle Bell Rock" in E in the middle pickup position, and end it on that jazzy E 6/9 chord at the 11th fret, with the open E on the bottom. If that doesn't move you, then nothing will! It's fairly heavy, in spite of being chambered, and the basswood body with the arched, crisp maple top, and substantial bridge cut through, but also have good sustain, and will feedback and sustain a note without squealing. Also has good AC "buzz" rejection. A fine, custom instrument - not shown as such at the Gretsch site. It can "play nice", but crank it, and it will scorch the paint right off the walls - all good! I have many guitars and this one is right up there with the best. If the picture is moving you, you will LOVE it!
