The Guild Polara Kim Thayil solidbody electric guitar honors Kim Thayil's 30 years playing Guild guitars while capturing the spirit of Soundgarden. With its gloss-finished mahogany body and vintage soft U-shaped mahogany neck, it has the classic Guild tone and feel that Kim loves. The HB-1 humbuckers replicate the warm yet articulate tone of Guild guitars from the '70s, cutting through any mix with clarity. Tune-o-matic bridge and compensated stopbar tailpiece provide excellent intonation, while Grover Rotomatic tuners keep the Polara Kim Thayil in tune through extended jam sessions. This guitar celebrates Kim Thayil's legacy with Soundgarden, featuring a truss rod cover with the "King Animal" design and a backplate signed "Badmotorfinger" in tribute to the band's iconic albums.
Vintage Guild Tone and Feel With Mahogany Body and Neck
The Polara Kim Thayil has a gloss-finished mahogany body and soft U-shaped mahogany neck, just like Guild guitars from the '70s that Kim Thayil has played for 30 years. The mahogany provides a warm, woody tone and smooth feel that defined the Guild sound. The large headstock also replicates Kim's favorite Guild models. Together, these design elements honor Kim's history while giving you classic Guild tone and playability.

The Guild Polara Kim Thayil has a tune-o-matic bridge and compensated stopbar tailpiece for excellent intonation up and down the neck. It stays in tune performance after performance thanks to a set of Grover Rotomatic tuners, a staple of vintage Guild guitars. The Rotomatics make restringing fast and easy too.
