I am a professional musician, with 20 years of clubbing, college(music minor), recording and teaching, under my belt. I think, as musicians, those of us who can't afford $3,000 guitars know a secret. The price of a guitar has very little to do with anything! I need a guitar that sets me apart, and matches my style and my persona. Look at the internet all day, but you'll never know what's for you until you pick it up and are stunned by an instrument!I am recording my own CD, and so many influences have made me, that it is truly somewhere between gnarly blues, electronica, southern rock, indie/shoegaze, and folk.I play through an American 59 Bassman tweed(90's) and a bit of overdrive, my Muff Pi, Boss Tremelo and Digi-verb. I also have a direct setup that utilizes my secret weapon pedal. The contrast is great, w/acoustic, a lot of synth/ MIDI, and bass to punch it up. My Fender Strat Deluxe is fantastic, but a bit limiting.I needed this guitar. It is an unreal but(mahogany body!) that I came across while working for a major Guitar retailer. It needs only a couple of EMG's or Duncans and it will be my mainstay(the Strat is too pretty, and I don't want to damage it live). I'll probably buy two of these.Great action, stays in tune, new p/u's are not a must, for all. Great guitar because it doesn't look like I play metal. I hate that stigma.

First of all, one has to realize that this is not a pro-quality guitar: it's not built by Team J-Craft, or whatever. This is the bottom of the line of Ibanez guitars.Secondly, all old Ibanez RGs other than the RG 500 series is EXTREMELY poor quality. While the 24 fret neck with the white binding offers higher notes to play on, the space between frets is bigger, and it is harder to make long jumps (unlike an Ibanez S series guitar). The neck is set up poorly, and it offers very little sustain. The stock pickups are extremely weak, and there is almost no difference in the sound when adjusting the tone pot.My advice: Save up 500 more dollars, and buy either a RG 500 series guitar, or buy something similar to a Jackson DKMG guitar.

I bought this guitar in '08 and am still trashing it everyday. The action is perfect and the neck is fast. i play in drop b and it handles it extremely well. quality hardware but you might want to swap the pickups. I put seymour duncan invaders and it sounds great. Awesome guitar.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

Just bought a pristine '07 Epi Les Paul Studio Ltd. My dream guitar since I saw Ace Frehley play one in '74. Fantastic tone and sustain and down right sexy. HOWEVER, this Ibanez RG321MHMOL is SO much guitar for the money. It's a tank. I've raised and lowered the action and pups, changed the neck relief both ways, dropped it from 4 ft, de-tuned it and it won't say uncle. If you break the neck you can replace it(bolt-on). Yes, the bare oiled wood does lightly scratch with pick or nail, but if someone get that close to it, the guitar makes a great noggin hammer. Mahogany body and maple neck. Pups are just fine and it is worth twice it's price.

Good for SOUKOUS

By Sparrowdudu

from Caribbean

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I've just bought this guitar specifically because it has 24 frets and is exceptionally good value. I know that this model is popular with death metal guitarists for shredding etc., if YOUTUBE is anything to go by, but I would also suggest that this is a good choice of guitar for someone who wants to play SOUKOUS style lead guitar on a budget. Some soukous lead solos require 24 frets, a guitar that allows very quick finger movement and the ability to access the top end with little effort. This guitar enables all that. I have it plugged into a Behringer Vintage delay pedal, and this gives an authentically rich soukous guitar sound. Both are great value products.

Really Great Guitar

By RCA-C5MB0

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar like a month ago and it plays really good. The wizzard neck makes my fingers slide through the frets reallly goo. I got it in weathered black and it looks really good. It's really light compared to other Ibanezes I have tried. Overall it's a great guitar.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I owned this guitar a few years ago, it had a really well build quality to it. Great neck! The pick ups were the only problem I had with it, but they worked and still sounded really good. I would just of rather put Seymour Duncan pick ups in it. More of a personal preference than a flaw. But overall a great guitar! I had to trade it into my local guitar shop to help pay for my PA system. I really wish I still had it.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

i got this black(wish id gotten Moil) and it is solid. the neck is slippery fast and skinny, and the even though it is a bolt on, it sustains for days. perfect weight distribution, tuners stay in tune, but are a bit of a pain to use. Pups are ok for a cheap guitar, but they dont sound like good pickups, change them. Also the pickup switch is HORRIBLE, touch it and the whole guitar vibrates aggresively. But the feel of the guitar is unbelievably great. this is one of those guitars where you get more than what you pay for, put in about $150, and you got a studio quality guitar.

Still playing it....

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar 5 years ago. I still jam everyday on it. This is the best guitar I have ever purchased, and comes very VERY close to my old RG570. Olde English furniture polish "pretty's" it right up. The finish is great because I'm not real concerned about scratching it. No paint to panic over, big plus. My 3rd finger on my picking hand has wore a dent into the wood, no kidding. Now the instrument is truely mine, has character. One thing though....the neck is real moody. Changes tune on me just slightly every few days. I know because when I go to jam with my Rush CD's, its slightly out. But still, no complaints. I love this guitar. Anything Ibanez is building these days on the on the lower price scale, in my mind is equivalent to what they built and marketed as "high end" 10-15-20 years ago.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I bought one of these used from a local music store for [$]and I think I got a great deal. it plays very well, and the oil finish looks amazing. there are a few issues with mine, but thats probably due to abuse it sustained under its previous owner. I would advise replacing the pickups when you get the chance, as they leave a little to be desired.

I have this guitar and I was pretty impressed with the sound. I play this guitar all the time and I'm pretty happy with it after I lossed my les paul when my house burned down. I really love playing it and I really can't think of any negative comments or complaints about it.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for 5 months of there is nothing wrong with the pickups or string action or anything. I bought the Mohagany oil color. If you buy the guitar in this finish, Watch how you play. the Rg 321Mh started to chip slowely right below the Neck pickup, above the Low E string. The tone is amazing, sustain is very decent, pinch harmonices, naturals, and playability as far as the sun.this guitar is the best for the price. you will not find another guitar this cheap, with this value

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

This was my first electric guitar I had ever gotten. Mine came with autolocks! I was really happy. Granted a few years after all my wiring completely fried but it was easily replacable and I got it all done for free! This is great starter guitar for anyone. And a great addition to any guitar collector's collection.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a great value for its price. I bought one about a month ago and it quickly became one of my favorite six string guitars to use. Most of my other guitars are now sitting around collecting dust. I am about ready to upgrade it with some seymour duncans though, Im not crazy about the humbuckers that came on it, but for the price I cant come plain.

Great Beginner-Intermediate Guitar

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for a few months now and I am very happy with it. I have another Ibanez RG with the INF pickups but they sound so much better in the mahogany body of the RG321. The playability of the guitar is great and the looks are just awesome. I was originally going to get the Black version but after I saw the mahogany oil version up close I just knew that it was for me. The only problem that I have noticed with the guitar is that the screws for the neck humbucker seem to come loose on one side after a while so the pickup kind of sinks down into the cavity. I had a similar problem with my other RG but screws are cheap anyway and it's not so bad that you have to adjust it every day. All in all, this is a fantastic guitar for a fantastic price. If you are looking for a solid fixed bridge guitar as your main axe or maybe just as a backup and you don't want to spend a lot of money then this is the guitar for you.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

Love the guitar. It's the 3rd guitar i have owned and i have to say its the best. The stock pickups were much better than i expected so i havent even taken them out. Ive dropped this thing a million times and it dosent have a ding on it. I deffintly recommend it whether your a begginer or youve been playing for twenty years. Its worth every penny and it shreds!

This is a great guitar for the money. Dont hesitate to buy it. It has the same quality feel as my old RG570, which in 1990 was a high end Ibanez. This is a low priced Ibanez I'm not ashamed to take out of the house. BUY BUY BUY!

Monstrous Shredder!!!

By Ibanez fan

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

The guitar i own has been with me for about a year now. It is a good guitar to get within a decent price range(average). I like pretty much like everything about the guitar, but i have had some issue with neck rod and was required to be sent back to Ibanez headquarters. They replaced me a new one and guess what, i started having issues with the screws in the pickup's. So i'm thinking of getting the 81's and 85's in there to unleash this beasts full potential. Again, the guitar is awesome, just wished Ibanez had made better quality guitars like the discontinued Japanese ones.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

This is a solid axe aimed straight at the metal rhythm guitarist. No tremolo, nothing fancy about it; just a straightforward 6 string. The pickups are fairly hot, giving high gain playing the necessary crunch that we love. The guitar I recieved was somewhat out of adjustment on the truss rod, and the action was about double what it should be. After a few adjustments it plays very nice. There is some substance to the body; it has a fairly robust feel to it, and the neck is solid as well. All things considered, this guitar is tough to beat at the price. If you play a style that doesn't require a tremolo, this is a great guitar for you!

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

I just got this yesterday and I must say I'm impressed. I play a lot of metal and alternative and this axe can kill any rift I send its way. The guitar is relatively light compared to strat or a SG. The pickups work well for a guitarin this range, however I'm going to put some EMG active pickups in mine. On the contrary, I must say I'm disappointed in the finish, I love the natural look but this guitar scratches way to easily. Bottom line is, if your looking for a nice guitar to shred with without spending to much, you've found it. This beats an Epiphone or Sqier anyday, and for shredding beats my Les Paul.

Comments about Ibanez RG321 Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar for the price. Its wizard neck is as smooth as silk. It has a great sound overall. Great for almost any style of playing. This guitar doesn't need much care, since it doesn't have a floyd-rose tremolo. A great starter guitar.
