OVERVIEW

Ergonomic design, ultra-fast playability and monstrous tone.

Jackson is synonymous with high-performance guitar design and the progenitor musical speed machines. Conceived as a launching platform for technically advanced guitar playing, the SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Soloist is rife with Jackson's sophisticated ergonomic design, ultra-fast playability and monstrous tone.

Dual graphite reinforcement rods run the length of the maple neck with speed profile to fortify it against the extremes of nature, buttressing it against warping. A speedy 12-16 compound radius maple fingerboard creates the ideal playing surface for fat riffs and easy chording near the black plastic nut while gradually flattening in the upper registers for lightning-quick solos and wide bends without fear of fretting out.

A pair of EMG active humbucking pickups. an 85 neck pickup and 81 bridge pickup, generate versatile, huge and high output tones for brutal distortion and clear, crisp cleans. The Hardtail 6 strings-thru-body bridge produces massive sustain with enhanced note attack, and when combined with the Jackson-branded tuning machines, rock-solid tuning stability along with precise intonation.

Classic Jackson appointments include the instantly recognizable piranha inlays, stable Dunlop dual-locking strap buttons, black hardware, single-ply neck binding and the Soloists ergonomically arched top for playing blazing licks with comfort. Sleek, refined, and dangerous, the SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Soloist is art brought to life, tempered with high-tech performance for the ultimate metal machine.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

I had been shopping new guitars for quite some time before I settled on this delectable axe. I have used both Ibanez and Jackson guitars in the past and Jackson definitely has the upper hand when it comes to quality over the last few years. I had been looking at some of the newer RGA models or the new Schecter Sun Valley as my next acquisition, but once I got my hands on this Soloist, there was no competition.

The sustain that comes from this particular hard tail is quite astonishing, much better than I had been anticipating, being a Floyd Rose player in the past. The painted neck is very comfortable and not quite as slick as I had thought it would be. All of the hardware is fairly standard Jackson fare and feels solid and nicely assembled. There was some slight fret buzz when I first received the guitar, but some quick and light adjustments and intonations solved the problem in no time.

The white painted body, natural fingerboard and black head stock comes together to make a beautiful guitar, vastly different looking than the usual Jackson dark colors. If you are looking for a great-looking, fast-playing Jackson on a budget, then give this model a serious consideration, you will not regret it.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

You name it, I've had it over 54 years of guitar playing. And THIS is THE guitar I wish I had all that time. I changed out the pickups for EMG Retro's, the ones with adjustable poles for each string, to get a better volume per string balance and voicing. It's just great! It now has a nice, sophisticated, yet powerful tone and response. There's nothing this guitar can't do. What do you want to play? Rock? It'll sure do that. Jazz? Yep, it'll sure do that too. For me, better than some jazz arches I've had. Much better. I've got the action nice and low, no buzzes whatsoever anywhere. It's light weight, so you can sit or stand forever and not feel it. What else can I say?

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

I adjust the truss bar in every way possible with every possible adjustment on the bridge. The bridge is fixed but does not have adjustment like a tone pros or les Paul. Would recommend another slatxmg 3-6 with different bridge. Fretboard is fast and almost like it jumps out at you. Love neck through design and body cut outs. Very light and has great sustain. Everything was great except the fret buzz. Because of this problem, it was so bad, it ruined the entire experience.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

This is my 2nd of 4 Jacksons. Dinky Pro, Soloist, Warrior and Kelly. Neck thru, 81/85, Floyd. I dropped the Soloist and Kelly to c#. A little buzz dry, inaudible plugged in. This guitar ripps, Its Fast. Great sound, Disturbed Tool Mettalica This guitar delivers. I use cobalt 9s. Its comfortable on stage. While the TSL will make any guitar sound great, the soloist 81/85 gives that tone. My only down side is not having dual tone/volume controls like the dinky pro and les paul studio shred. Yeah that one has a Floyd too.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

This is the second Jackson soloist I have purchased in the past 3 years. (I own a purple SLATTXMG) I was extremely pleased to find a guitar in this price range with the features I want( neck thru body design, EMG pickups) with a maple neck! This guitar plays/sounds excellent. Whether you are a "clean" player or like me you love the distortion, this guitar delivers. The fret buzz was the only issue I encountered, but that was quickly corrected by using the small Allen wrench that was included to raise the hard-tail saddle up a little more. I am now fully armed for rock and roll battle with my 2 Jacksons!! Buy this guitar and join me on my quest....or whatever you may be doing with yours! : )
