New & Restock:
Overview

Gibson goes back to its roots with this SG Standard '61.

In 1961, the Les Paul model went on hiatus and Gibson debuted an all-new design destined to shape the sound of generations: the legendary SG, or Solid Guitar. Now the SG Standard '61 brings that revolutionary spirit roaring back to life with vintage- accurate details and cutting-edge enhancements for today's players.

Iconic Body, Legendary Tone

The SG Standard '61's double-cutaway mahogany body is a rock icon, as sleek and distinctive now as in '61. Two powerful Burstbucker 61 pickups deliver the tones that fueled rock's golden age, with increased output and definition. The fast, comfortable mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard provide fluid playability, while nickel hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge keep tuning stable through epic solos and thunderous riffs.

Modern Versatility and Control

While the SG Standard '61 is a tribute to history, it's built for today. The 61R and 61T pickups are wired to independent volume and tone controls for each pickup, allowing a range of tones from warm and rounded to hot and biting. A 3-way toggle switch selects neck pickup, bridge pickup or both. Orange Drop capacitors give a sweet musical tone at any setting.

Road-Ready and Stage-Tested

Light, resonant and perfectly balanced, the SG Standard '61 is made to perform. Plek'd frets provide effortless playability while a 1.695" nut width gives comfortable string spacing. Aluminum Nashville tuners with keystone buttons keep the SG Standard '61 in tune through the fiercest solos. A hard-shell case is included, ensuring this rock legend will inspire generations to come.
