OVERVIEW

A long-scale tone machine.

Get ready to throw down with this one – way down. An all-new baritone design with a 26-3/4″ scale neck that’s long enough to deliver thunderous lows, yet short enough to play like a normal guitar. The best of both worlds! Strategically positioned Railhammer Humcutter pickups keep the tone tight, and a custom SIT 12-68 gauge string set (available separately) features a plain 3rd for easy bending. Feeling the itch for that baritone growl, but don’t want to feel like you’re playing a bass? Then the Descent HC is your ticket. Case sold separately.

Pin-lock tuners
A thumbwheel under the tuner pushes a steel pin up through the post, locking the string in place for exceptional tuning stability and super-fast string changes.

Railhammer pickups
Rails under the wound strings for tight lows. Poles under the plain strings for fat highs. This revolutionary design from Reverend founder Joe Naylor delivers exceptional clarity and punch, and is setting a new standard for rock.

Wilkinson WVS50 IIK Tremolo
Features include saddles that lock to the baseplate, adjustable arm swing tension, and a push-in/no freeplay arm. Combined with the graphite nut and pin-lock tuners, it stays in tune even under aggressive whammy action.

Korina body
Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.

Graphite nut
We use a graphite impregnated nut on all Reverend instruments. Graphite reduces friction, allowing the strings to easily slide through the nut slots, improving tuning stability.

Bass contour
This passive bass roll-off is great for tightening up the low end, or re-voicing the pickups. It can make a humbucker sound like a single-coil, or give a P-90 that classic twang. Variable pickup voicing at your fingertips.

Comments about Reverend Descent HC Electric Guitar:

Arrived set up very well and ready to play right out of the box. I am primarily playing this through clean Fender amps for older country and truck driving songs. The pickups are very versatile.
they also sound great for dirtier heavy sounds. I've played it out live and it cuts through the mix well and I was very pleased. I wanted a baritone that did not have a 28' or longer scale. This scale is perfect for me. Plenty of bottom end! I keep it tuned A to A, then capo on 2 if I want to play out of B. I was initially worried that the strings might get too flabby tuned A, but it has not an issue. The only small change I made was to change the plain unwound .026 string for a wound .022 string on the 3rd string. Even though it's a wound string, it seems easier to bend than the .026 plain string was, and sounds a bit fuller in clean chords. That's just my preference, though, and an easy switch if you want to experiment. The finish looks great, and the neck is super comfortable. It also stays in tune with reasonable tremolo bar use.

Comments about Reverend Descent HC Electric Guitar:

Bought this for something different, instantly wrote tons of music on it. Amazing sound and feel, will inspire riffs and new tones. Everything about this guitar is rock solid and well worth the price. The orange color is much nicer in my opinion. Purchase the 'two-tone' guitar case since it has a perfect fit and is also well made.
