SIRE Larry Carlton A3 Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst

The Sire Larry Carlton A3 Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar marks the starting point in the Sire acoustic line—but don't mistake it for entry level. This thoughtfully designed instrument brings together quality tonewoods, comfort-focused construction and dual-source electronics at an accessible price. Whether you're strumming in a writing session or performing on stage, the A3 Grand Auditorium delivers expressive tone and a player-friendly feel that goes far beyond its category. Designed in collaboration with Grammy-winning guitarist Larry Carlton, it's a serious guitar for players who want pro-level performance from day one.

Roasted Solid Spruce Top for Aged-in Tone and Rich Resonance

The A3 Grand Auditorium features a roasted solid spruce top that adds both stability and tonal character to the guitar. This torrefaction process lightly "ages" the wood, reducing moisture content and enhancing resonance—so the guitar sounds more open and developed right out of the box. Paired with a mahogany back and sides, it yields a well-balanced voice that responds beautifully to both dynamic strumming and subtle fingerpicking. The Grand Auditorium body shape offers ample low-end depth without overwhelming the mids and highs, making it a highly versatile platform for all playing styles.

Comfort-Carved Mahogany Neck With Rolled Edges

Sire gave the A3 Grand Auditorium a slim C-shaped mahogany neck that's comfortable for both chord work and melodic lines. Rolled rosewood fingerboard edges—a feature typically reserved for high-end builds—make the guitar feel instantly broken in, encouraging long sessions without hand fatigue. The 25.5" scale length and 16" fingerboard radius add to the familiar, accessible feel, while the bone nut and small frets support clean intonation and smooth bending. It's a neck that's designed to feel effortless in your hands, whether you're just getting started or gigging regularly.

Versatile Onboard Electronics for Natural Sound

Outfitted with the Sire SIB Acoustic EQ System, the A3 Grand Auditorium gives you a reliable amplified tone for any environment. A piezo pickup under the saddle captures clarity and detail, while an internal condenser microphone adds air and warmth to the signal. With easy-to-use controls for volume, tone and mic blend, you can fine-tune your live sound to suit the venue or your playing style. Whether you're plugging in for a live set or tracking at home, the A3 delivers an organic, well-balanced tone that faithfully represents your playing.

Classic Appointments and Reliable Sire Hardware

Visually, the A3 Grand Auditorium keeps things timeless with herringbone binding and tasteful chrome hardware. The rosewood bridge, bone saddle and die-cast tuning machines round out the hardware setup, offering strong sustain and solid tuning stability. A dovetail neck joint reinforces the guitar's structural integrity, ensuring it's ready for years of dependable performance. It's a workhorse instrument that stays classy without trying too hard—designed to blend into any setup while standing out in sound and feel.

A Confident First Step Into the Sire Acoustic Line

With its solid top tone, comfortable neck and dual-source electronics, the Sire Larry Carlton A3 Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar punches far above its price. It's ideal for emerging songwriters, gigging musicians or anyone looking for a stage-ready acoustic with premium features at a breakthrough value. While it serves as the entry point into Sire's acoustic family, the A3 Grand Auditorium holds its own against instruments twice its cost—making it a smart pick for players who want serious performance without the boutique price tag.
