I have over 150 guitars in my collection, and have returned a couple of mid level Fenders that just did not do it for me.

FIRST THINGS FIRST. Leave the guitar alone! If you want to replace the tuners, get the same trapezoid tuner, or go to: http://amateurluthiery.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/replacing-the-tuners-on-a-squier%C2%AE-by-fender%C2%AE-bullet-strat%C2%AE/ and make up your mind.
What is important on a nut, is NOT what it is made from, but the string to string dimensions, the height (rise and fall), and the proper groove cuts. Bone IS NOT THE BIG ANSWER TO ALL YOUR GUITARS ILLS, and may just add to them, as bone is NOT consistent, and is hard and soft throughout (plastic is consistent). The pickups DO NOT NEED REPLACING, and deliver great punch, sustain, and string response.

I bought this low end (I thought) fender just to see what all the hubbub was about.
The rationale: If I didn't like it, I could always change out the neck and put a new loaded pickguard on it.
For an entry level priced guitar, this thing just rocks! I just picked up two more on sale from Musicians Friend, so now have 4, plus misc. necks and bodies.
The most important thing to me, is that it is made in Indonesia; why you ask, because Indonesia has been producing the best offshore guitars for the last 6 or 7 years, and in my humble opinion blows Korea out of the water on low end guitars.

First off, the tuners don't blow as bad as you are led to believe; this may change after a while, but as new tuners, they are just fine.
The neck is straight and unfinished which makes it fast. The medium frets are right on the edge of giving you some finger rash, so a little light sanding may be in order.
The strings are cheap (Duh!)
After installing the (included) extra tremolo spring (I always use 4, this way I don't have to block it), I gave the truss rod a half turn down, lowered the saddles, and corrected the pup angles (closer to high e, further from low E), and voila, other than the stock strings, and frets needing a little dressing, the guitar played just as well, or better than at least half of my mid price range guitars.
The black hardware is great; I get so tired of looking at chrome.....................
Pickups sound like they are mid range (6-8K), and come across with good punch and sustain.
The shining star on this rig, is the VERY lightweight basswood body. While it may be more dent prone, I don't usually go around banging my guitars into hard objects, and if I did, at the low price, who cares!!!

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I always wanted an Orange Charvel with duel humbuckers and black pickguard but I didn't want to spend that much money. When I saw Squier offer this Strat in orange I bought it right away. I must have gotten really lucky with this one because it's perfect right out of the box. The only bad thing about this guitar is the tuners are a little hard to turn but they stay in tune very well. I'm very happy with this guitar.

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I have owned a lot of Strats and this has the best neck and for some reason the trem stays in tune with heavy whammy use. No doubt the best bang for the buck from Fender. The metallic orange paint job would cost you more than the whole guitar!

The pickups have a nasal mid range sound , better than most import humbuckers and very useful for agressive sounds with good harmonics.

I was looking around for a nice lightweight body for a Mighty Mite neck and HH motherbucker board I have, so I ordered
one of these in black to change out these parts.

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

Tuners are only so-so, I replaced mine with Grover Rotomatics, frets needed to be polished. That is IT! This little thing plays as nicely as my 1971 tilt-neck Strat. but it's half the weight! It's a joy to play, humbuckers sound great! Neck is great! Balance is great! Workmanship is flawless! Even the strings it came with sound great! Quality control is really impressive, just a super-duper good deal on an awesome guitar, and I never use the word 'Awesome', ever! Bought mine with a gig-bag, got the guitar, played it for a few days, picked up the phone and ordered the hard case for it, it's THAT good! I'm keeping this one forever.

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

Being a bassist i have a couple fender jazz basses that are my main players. That being said, when i first picked this little bullet strat up it felt like a toy... which i guess it really might be. but a simple upgrade to the strings of your choice might just change your mind. This almost mini strat body is so light it feels odd at 1st. but once you do, you realize the neck is actually pretty straight, fast, and after replacing the factory strings, realize that the pups were worth the price of admission . fun to play and looks great hanging on your wall..but i think you will find yourself playing it a bit more than you imagined as it has a certain little "fun" factor with the tremolo etc. This review is taking into consideration price, of course, build quality, playability, cosmetic/appeal, and quality of sound for the price, best bang for your buck. remember, at under a bill, come on ! what you get is a little bit of fender fun.

This guitar is well worth the price..it has a great sound that comes from the humbuckers, a little different since Strats are mainly single coils. Whether your a beginner or advanced guitarist this Squier is great! The black hardware definitely makes it stand out, I purchased the metallic orange and have received LOTS of compliments. A few little minor tweaks and I'd be glad to get on stage with this guitar..So if your looking for an affordable guitar that plays nice, do yourself a favor and get this one!! You won't be disappointed!!

I now own 4 of these one in the tone sunburst in HSS and one in Green Metallic finish HSS pickup configuration. Plus I own one in Metallic Purple in the SSS pickup configuration. And now with this one the Metallic Orange in the HH format. These are all great guitars not only for the money but just because they really are that well made. All it takes is a little small setup to one's liking and you'll own a GREAT guitar. Trust me and I have the Pictures in my reviews to prove it.

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I bought this as an inexpensive way to try scalloping a guitar neck. Got it on a Friday morning, dropped and adjusted the action, played it for an hour and was truly impressed. Better action and tone than an old eighties mim I spent too much money modding.
I took it to the kareoke bar I frequent that night and played it with a couple blues standards and the KJ thought it sounded better than the other instruments I'd brought in before, (They all cost 10 times more) Shared it with a couple guitar friends who were surprised as well.
That night, after closing the bar, I tore it apart and prepped the neck. Noon the next day, woke up, got a pot of coffee in me, and 8 hours later got to play my first scalloped neck guitar.
Whoo Hoo! I recommend it to anyone with the patience and skills to try it.
I was so jazzed I ordered another one that night( this one in metalic orange, first one was black) and when it arrived it was perfect out of the box. I'm leaving that neck alone.
Bottom line. The hardware is cheap, but effective, it works. Time will tell how it holds up. Tuners are stiff but they hold it in tune nicely. Another reviewer commented about the quality of instruments coming out of Indonesia and I wholeheartedly agree. The unfinished neck feels great. Fast and smooth. I only wish they had something like this, for a C-note, forty years ago when I began to play. The first guitar I got made my fingers bleed.
For this kind of money you can't go wrong.

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

When this 2 tone sunburst with all black harware got here I couldn't believe how much attention was paid at the warehouse to packing this guitar to totally insure it would not get damaged even if the UPS guy literally threw it out of the truck while he was driving by the house. They could have packed a nuclear warhead in this box for safe shipping. Thank you for caring for my new guitar so much. I was just amazed. And I am a pro lead guitar player for 40 years and this guitar sings clear and loud with good sustaining lead bends. One little thing. Even on expensive guitars there can be a few dead frets that need to be sanded or have a guitar tech file down evenly. In this case the first 3 frets on 3 strings. No big deal. For the cheap price I paid for his beauty I'll gladly take care of that myself. This guitar looks like an expensive Fender custom shop "one of a kind" with perfect wood grain and excellent black spay around the edges. I am so very happy with this guitar. Thank you Musicians Friend. And I swore I would never buy a mail order guitar I couldn't try in a store with my own 2 hands. But this came up on sale and I just looked at it and said to myself, "you got to be kidding". So I took a chance and when I got it in my hands I adjusted the string height and intonation and with the better sounding thicker strings it came with, 10's I believe thank you, it sounded so sweet and loud unplugged and isn't heavy, it felt perfect. Unbelievable. I've had expensive guitars in my day and glad I lived to see where I can by a great guitar for little money I can afford in my old age. Thank you, very sincerely, Fender and Musician's Friend.

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

The metallic orange finish is beautiful, flawless finish the finish alone is worth the price of this guitar. That being said I like the HH pickups, the neck and tuners feel great, tuners on mine are smooth and work really well guitar stays in tune, the action out of the box was actually good,no fret buzz or dead notes anywhere on the board, for the price of this guitar I don't think you can go wrong, the electronics are solid,no lose hardware..it's a great little guitar!!.Rock On!

Comments about Squier Bullet HH Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I ordered the tobacco burst finish model and it is very nicely finished. The neck was well finished at the fret ends and this plays, sounds and feels like a guitar costing 3X the price. Better than a typical beginner's guitar, it will need to be set-up. It's playable right out of the box, but needs those very important tweaks if you are an experienced player. Once you complete that task, it's amazing how nice this guitar really is for the money. This would be a great guitar to learn on since the investment is small and playability of the instrument is excellent. I found no defects, except for one screw on the neck plate is very slightly cocked. The others were perfectly straight. 5 stars because this is a better guitar than you're paying for. Buy with confidence.

This is the 7th Squire I ordered.
I disassemble all Squires purchased. Well built. Good paint Maybe better than MIM in assembly quality in some part. All parts positioned/ lined up OK. Unlike other Squires fret ends of this one were well rounded and no need to file. All thread holes are straight and not stripped. One hole at bottom of jack plate was too close to cavity edge. This is typical for all Fender design. Wiring is solid and parts are good. The only think I do not like was tone. It was a little muddy to me (but not bad for begginers and price). I am not sure if this come from pickup or from pots. At any rate I buy Squire for mods so I will replace them all.

I have owned Mex, Korean Chinese and Japanese Strats and this little guitar, with proper set up plays and intonates as well as any guitar I've ever palyed. I haven't had it long enough to say it's good for recording but it is a great guitar in every aspect. I have played since 1963 and have a ton of experiences behind me to judge this beautiful instrument.

I bought the Sunburst Tele and I loved the sound and playability for the price but the Tele cuts into my right arm. I saw this matching HHS and could not pass it up. Just got it in today and it was packed perfect and safe. I tuned it and it was intonated almost perfect but strings were to high due to neck being bowed. Two 1/4 turns of the truss rod nut and perfectly straight. It was still intonated almost perfect. I slightly adjusted two screws and now it plays as good as my buddies American made Strat. All I can say is they are making some sweet guitars in Asia. I bought the Black one as well. It will be in tomorrow. I will review it as well. If your kid needs a first electric; look no further...

Great buy, came in a large box with enough protection inside that could probably survive being dropped a 3-story building. The guitar feels good in my hands and using the guitar to play with Rocksmith, it worked without worry. I'm no guitar expert, but I feel that is a great guitar for any beginners or players of Rocksmith.

Fantastic budget guitar. A super sweet deal, even sweeter when they're on sale. Mine played great right out of the box, though I did cherry pick it from a bunch on the showroom floor. It functions as well, and sounds as good as guitars costing 10x as much. Hardware is super cheap, but works surprisingly well. Whammy stays in tune better than any I've owned. This is especially worth noting, as the entire guitar costs less than a decent aftermarket whammy. Squier Indonesia are doing something right.

There's really not much to say about this guitar over the positive feature reviews for a typical bullet strat. I just wanted to mention that the humbuckers in this bullet sound pretty nice and really don't require replacement (well, depending on what sound/tone your looking for). But for a inexpensive guitar like this, the fit and finish is great. The pups sound really good for what they are. The neck is slim and comfortable to play on these bullets. "Good" guitar for the money. And if you spend a little bit on some upgrades, could be a "great" guitar.
