I received my SSS Stratocaster, this past Wed. and I am very happy,so far!I was not expecting an Mexican,or American Strat!I wanted a playable guitar, that I could practice and jam on.This fits' the bill nicely.I like "Hendrix" and this guitar will give you the "single coil sound"."Quality control",is fairly good,on this guitar. All of the parts' are somewhat cheap, but not bad,for what I wanted. The pick-ups' are not as "fat" sounding,as the American and Mexican "Strats"and have some high-end buzz.I don't mind that. The pick-guard scratch's real easy. Not a biggy! The tone and volume controls' all work and are clean. This guitar plays' better, than anything that I have played,in this price range! The neck did not have a bunch of sharp frets' and the intonation was very close.(I did purchase an "open-box",so intonation could have been set,at the store?)Sounds' great through my "Zoom G1Xon" processor!I wanted the,"Stratocaster sound",without forking out a bunch of cash! This is a "pretty guitar"(I got the "metallic blue") .This guitar would be fine for a beginner to more advanced.I have small hands' and the "Squire Strats'",fit my hands' better!I can play some decent lead on this guitar. The bridge/vibrato system,is not locking,so you have to play and tune,if you are going to try and use that, except for a little vibrato. The tuners' are cheap, but can be dealt with(They tend to slip,a bit),but once tuned, tend to stay there.Overall,I am very pleased with my purchase and would buy another one!I hope this review is of some help to you.

I have actually been playing since the 70's. Though I have not owned a guitar for the last 20 years. I had a mild stroke some years back, and thought playing would help with some lingering problems. Due to budget constraints I bought this Squier. I was suprized at the quality of it. I got much more than I expected at this price point. The set-up from the factory was right on target. In fact, the set-up was better than a Strat I bought new in the early 80's. I've only had it a few days but so far, I am extremely satisfied.

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

This is a good guitar for a beginner or someone that plays a lot. This is the third of these (China built) guitars I bought. The 2 prior were for friends just starting to play. After I set them up, I decided to get one for myself. This will take some wear and tear off my expensive guitars. I play at least 1 hour a day and these play good, especially for the price you pay for them. I upgraded mine with some Fender locking tuners, roller nut (removed string trees) and a custom built bridge. Fender has so many models of Strat and I do not think they have differ much at all and you can spend as much as your heart desires on one. Mine plays every bit as good as any American Strat . I had a "Jeff Beck" model that I returned because of quality issues (to a different seller) this one plays as good as that one for much less. This model can be upgraded to where it stays in tune and plays very good inexpensively. I use this one for practice and am not picky about the pickups at this point. A pickup change will much cost more than I have invested in this guitar. That said, this guitar is a great value. I can't believe how little I have invested in this vs how well it plays.

Parents, if you are looking to get a guitar for your children this one should be considered. Make sure to get it to a music store so it can be "set up". It costs very little and will make this guitar so much easier to play. The reason most people quit is that their guitar is not set up and it hurts their fingers.

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I read the reviews and wanted to pick up a Strat as I had sold my MIJ a few years back. The price was right and I pulled the trigger and glad I did! Yes this is not a Custom Shop or Signature model or even MIM but for what you pay its an amazing deal! The fit, finish, frets, set up, and everything else is very very good! The neck feels good satin finish and fast. Frets are dressed very well no sharp edges etc. The PUPS sound very good not noisy and have good Fender tone. The strings need be be changed for sure but I will play it with them for a bit as it will feel even better when changed out. I bought this guitar to mod and I will but not right away. I have a loaded mother of pearl pick guard with hot hand wound grease bucketed PUPS ready to drop in. I will install locking tuners and swap out the bridge for one with a brass block. After all is said and done i will have less than 3 bills in it. It will be my Seafoam Green Tone Machine. That's me I wanted a project. Honestly if you change the strings and leave it stock it is a very cool fun guitar. This is excellent craftsmanship that the Indonesians have put into making these guitars. My hat is off to them! Great job Ladies & Gents! If you are thinking about buying one of these go for it! You will be happy you did!

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I'm amazed at the quality of this guitar, for the price. It plays and sounds better than guitars I've paid a lot more for. I have quite a few pedals that cost more.

The color grabbed me and then I saw the ridiculously low price. I'd be happy with this Strat at twice the cost. This is a wonderful instrument. I'm having a blast collecting and modding cheap guitars, at today's prices and quality.

Thanks again, MF! I've been a customer for decades and, now, you're also supplying my kids. :)

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

I did sand the fret board with very fine sandpaper, steel wool on the frets as when bending the strings it felt
"gritty". Had to file the nut slightly on strings 5 -6. Changed the strings and adjusted the intonation and used it to play a gig the next week. I brought it as my spare but, ended up using it for the whole night.

squier bullet strat and tele models make excellent platforms for a pro guitar - great neck, wood, finish, and good quality of build. as is in stock form, just a good setup for string action and intonation is all that's required. *** swap out the pickups, switch, pots and jack and it'll be ready for stage or studio. there is NO need to spend more dollar$ for an electric guitar!

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

This Squier Bullet produces the classic "strat" sound. When I first got the guitar, I couldn't believe my ears, or my hands. It is fun to play, and it makes you to want to play more! Sure, it's not for the pro, but how many guitars are?
I would venture to guess MOST guitarists are not on stage or in the studio. For them the Bullet would do just fine, unless they believe the hype that you must pay a lot for an electric, to get the sound, that only they and a few friends or family will hear( and not appreciate).
The Bullet deserves more respect than is given. I have more expensive guitars that you have to fuss with the controls, on the guitar, and the amp, to get a fairly decent sound, but the feel of them is nowhere near the Bullet. When I play it, I feel like I "own" it, if that makes any sense. Other guitars fight me, but the Squier, does not.

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

Solidly built guitar. The factory setup is alright, but with some adjustments you can pretty easily get it playing and sounding better by adjusting the string height, intonation, and pickup height. The only drawbacks of this guitar are the tuners, which slip a bit and aren't the best and the nut which binds the strings quite a bit. That being said, you will be hard pressed to find another guitar that provides this much value for your money at regular price, never mind when the seafoam green model is marked down!

For a hundred buck or so, this guitar is very nice. It's not perfect but it's quite playable and isn't going to hold your playing back (at least, not mine). I've got a dozen guitars of varying levels to choose from and often pull this out to noddle on. In terms of imperfections, the frets feel gritty and need polishing badly (easy to do). Also, the finish has a large run on the bottom edge. But, the tone is very straty and the action (other than the gritty frets) is smooth. Great choice if you're starting out or just like the color seafoam (actually, that's why I bought it!).

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

For starters, I am a drummer more than guitarist.

However, this guitar rocks. For the price, it is hard to beat. It came undamaged and on time, much like everything else I order from Musicians Friend.

I tuned this guy and plugged in to give it a go. To be honest, I was not impressed from the first use. The tuners did not hold tune well at all and the tone was not what I was desiring. As mentioned, I am no guitarist so I took it into my local music shop to change the tuners and get a proper setup: intonation, string height, etc.

After the guitar was returned, it was a whole new axe. This thing sounds great!

I always strive for that classic fender strat tone, but am not in a position to buy one just yet. This guy gives enough to satisfy that craving. I have been playing an Ibanez ART300 (which I REALLY am a fan of) but needless to say it does not have those single coil tones.

I am very pleased with this purchase, but I would highly suggest changing the tuners and setting this bad boy up properly. It makes a big difference. Hard to be disappointed for the cost.

I let an American candy apple red strat go in the 90s. I have regretted it. I got this bullet because I like the bullet neck and price. I have changed the nut with a tusq and the tuners to Fender American Standard tuners. Next will be building out the pickguard with pickups, switches caps....

Am I going to probably spend more than if I had just bought a different guitar? Sure - but the upgrades are something I want to learn and do. The nut was atrocious when it came out of the box - looks like someone took an angle grinder to it. For a hundred+ clams - I am not complaining. Some painters tape and a fingernail file/buffer and I am happy with the ends of the fret wire.

I've only had it a few days but so far, I am extremely satisfied.

Surprised at the neck on this Squire. With just minor adjusting on the action, it plays better than more expensive Harley Bentons and Epiphones. Fit and finish is very good and set-up, out of the box was more than just playable. Impressed!

This cheap little guitar came with a very nice finish. Wonderful strat sound and it's actually playable. I'd recommend to a beginner or anyone who's just tired of using their usual humbuckers. It's not perfect, but it's truly worth more than the sale price!

Comments about Squier Bullet Stratocaster SSS Electric Guitar with Tremolo:

The Bullet Strat I received is a remarkably good guitar overall. The fit/finish of the body and neck is outstanding. The frets were level (better than my Am Std) and NO fret sprout. The pups, while not incredibly articulate, are actually pretty decent. Certainly good enough for me and probably most people. I actually prefer the slightly thinner body on this Strat over my other Strats. The setup was (typically) rather poor. I just wish this guitar was available in Fiesta Red. I may have to go for the HT version.

                            Mods I have done:
                            1. Lowered the 'too high' pickups.
                            2. Replaced the absolutely horrible tuners with Gotoh vintage style tuners. Lightly sanded the back of the neck as it had a "hairy" texture.
                            3. Added a Kinman style treble bleed and replaced the tone cap with a 0.015 uF cap.

My only caution for people planning on getting this guitar is to be aware that the tuners are horrible. They have a LOT of backlash so you have to be very diligent about always 'tuning up' to pitch. If you do the 'tune up' only routine they are just barely usable. These would be GREAT guitars for anyone but plan on doing a tuner swap and major setup. i.e. expect to put ~$125 into the guitar (if paying a tech) to get the guitar to MIM Strat level. The best option is to do the mods/setup yourself. It generally doesn't make sense to pour big money into a Bullet Strat.
