Overview

This series will have players musically inspired and eager for playtime.

Each year, Bob Taylor and his team of luthiers offer a limited production run of special guitars featuring exotic woods and upgraded specs. The Fall 2009 Limited Edition Taylor 414CE guitar features Indian rosewood. This selection of rosewood sports rich chocolate-and-caramel variegation, made even richer with a gloss finish. The Taylor Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming. The grand auditorium body design combines the width and depth of a dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Taylor Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming. A Venetian cutaway gives you superior access to the 20-fret ebony fingerboard. Other features include an American mahogany neck, forward shifted bracing, ebony bridge, and a Tusq nut and saddle. Adornments include chrome tuners, abalone rosette, White body binding and heelcap, and a blackwood headstock overlay.

Using proprietary pickup technology developed at Taylor the on-board Expression System incorporates three different magnetic sensors. Two strategically placed Dynamic Body Sensors affixed to the underside of the soundboard capture the complex nuances of the top's vibration, while a Dynamic String Sensor mounted beneath the fretboard extension registers string and neck vibration. The preamp boosts the pickup signal cleanly, without the need for artificial EQ "coloration". The balanced, low-impedance signal the Expression System produces can run direct into a mixer or PA in most situations, and is free of distortion at almost any volume. Three simple, unobtrusive onboard control knobs preserve the aesthetic beauty of your Taylor, yet allow you to easily adjust the volume, bass, and treble to suit your personal preferences and performance environment. This easy to use system enables all of the expressive subtleties of your playing to come through, just the way you intended.

The 414ce has a lustrous gloss finished top, while the back and sides have a textured satin finish. The ultraviolet cured finish developed by Taylor is durable, resistant to cold-checking, and is more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Includes hardshell case.
